This is a really nice solid, straight, and complete example of a Canadian model Ford F68 (f2/f3). This is the desirable express bed (8ft) model. This was a local farm truck from the southeastern part of Alberta which is very dry. This typically results in well preserved examples of these old farm trucks. Particularly with most of them being off of the road long before salt was used on roads in the area. It was used as a grain truck as can be seen on the tailgate with the grain chute having been cut out of the original tailgate. It has grain box sides as well bu they were broken and rotted. Has a hoist as well! Only rust is a little in the bedsides where the bed wood meets the box sides. This is typical of this era of ford and was likely exaggerated with the box being full of grain at times. It is an easy area to repair if one was going to fully restore the truck. The only other real spot is a small spot on the bottom of the drivers front fender. Both areas can be seen in the pictures. Great floors with good body mounts, cab corners, even the bottom of the doors are fantastic. Original rims as well as a spare and all 4 hubcaps. It even has the bottom engine cover/skid plate which was so often discarded.
The original flathead turns over and the transmission shifts into all gears but the truck is not running. Would make a fantastic candidate for a patina build, leaving the cosmetics mostly alone while doing a mechanical overhaul/restoration. I have added a photo of the truck wet to give a better idea of the patina if treated/clear coated.
It will need new box wood along with oak crossmembers which were unique to the express bed trucks. Will need the passenger side window but ford glass of this era is prone to delamination anyway.
I have the paperwork from when it was last registered in 1972. Truck is located in Alberta, a couple hours north of the US/canada border but I am more than happy to help accomodate shipping anywhere worldwide.
Contact must be made by the winning bidder within 24hrs of auction end. Non-refundable deposit of 500 dollars via paypal within 24hrs. Zero feedback bidders must make contact prior to bidding. I reserve the right to end the auction early due to it being listed locally.
