Car description |

Up for sale is this rare 1960 Ford Starliner. If you are not familiar with the Starliner model you will not be able to spot all the changes done to this car. This Pro Touring build was started over a year and a half ago. All the hard expensive work has been done. Just under $70,000 has been spend to this point. It is 95% finished and will be sold that way.
Inside the car the first major change was the dash board. The old plain factory dash that came in the 1960 Starliner has been replaced with the dash out of a 1964 Ford Galaxie. All the gauges were upgraded to Dakota VHX Blue gauges.
In it’s day the 60 Starliner factory interior was pretty simple and was offered in a bench seat only. The new interior was taken out of a 1963 Galaxie XLT and than sent to SMS Interiors in Portland Oregon. The bucket seats, rear bench seat, door panels and center console were allduplicated back to the factory design but instead of using the cheap factory vinyl material a high quality Flat Black Leather was used in it's place. Before installing the new interior the floor, inside doors and roof were all heavily Dyna Mat. Of course new carpet and headliner were also installed.
In order to achieve the new stance of the car, the drive shaft tunnel was cut out and lifted 3 inches. The Starliner sits low but with no clearance issues. This is the ride height. It is not bagged. The suspension is all new. The power steering box is also new. The old rear leaf springs were removed and replaced with a 4 link. The Starliner has adjustable coil over shocks on all 4corners. Power Disk Brakes in the front with the drum brakes on the rear.
In the engine compartment, don’t let your eyes fool you. That is not a 5.0 Coyote Engine. The engine is a Chevy LS based L77 - 6.0 that is hooked up to a 6 Speed – L680 Overdrive Transmission. Runs and shifts perfectly! The Firewall has all been smoothed. All the Hoses and Wires are all ran under the engine and out of sight. New exhaust. Of course the Starliner has Ice Cold A/C. Wheels are Ridler 20 inch and 18 inch with new tires. Tilt Steering column and custom steering wheel.
Items that need finishing:
Front end needs aligned
Parking Brake needs Adjusting
Steering Box Adjusted
Trunk needs to be upholstered
The new Retro Sound Radio needs hooked up
Few rattles need to be located and fixed
Interior Seat Trim and Center Console Trim needs polishing
The rear two side windows are original to the car. (personal choice to replace them)
Tons of honks and thumps up when you drive this car. The Stances is killer!!!
The Starliner has been driven to four local car shows and draws a lot of attention and comments. Drive it the way it is and finish the needed small details on a few weekends,
