Car description |

What we have here is a 1947 Mercury convertible. It was an old custom that had shaved door handles and an early hemi. The floors and trunk were pretty bad and the gas tank was full of dirt. The motor and transmission were long gone, but it came with a ton of parts. I started working on it slowly but velocity increased and after some years here we are running and driving today. Perfect car for ice cream on Sunday afternoons. Cars runs great and has a very smooth ride.
Here is what has been done:
Completely rebuilt 8BA flathead to stock specifications
Powermaster alternator and 12 volt electrical systemLED conversion on headlights
Completely rewired with everything working as it should
Rebuilt Ford 3 speed transmission
New factory Ford clutch
Complete rewiring from bumper to bumper with modern fuses
Rebuilt brakes, new brake lines, and updated suspension
Drop axle by Andy Kohler
Reversed main leaf front and rear
Hydro dipped dash and garnish moldings to wood grain
New converted Autometer gauges - all working!
New TANKS fuel tank and fuel lines
New radiator
Factory 15 x 5 inch wheels painted and double pin striped
New interior with factory front and rear seats
New windshield
All door risers and glass are in great condition
Door and trunk handles work as they should
Cowl vent is stock and operational
Factory floors were cut out of a 2 door sedan and welded in, and a new reproduction trunk floor was welded in as well.
Rear fenders were repaired of rust on bottom front edges
Here is what is still missing:
Paint job
Convertible top
A driver.
In addition to the car you get a ton of the extra parts (bring a U Haul truck) including front and rear fenders, trim trim and trim etc etc. Contact me for more photos or any questions you might have. I have a clear title in hand. Thanks
