1969 Ford F100 2WD Shortbed pickup truck. So the story on this truck is that is was body off restored here in San Diego, California about 20 years ago, driven occasionally for about 20k miles and then parked in 2005. Unfortunately, it was also parked outside underneath one of those crappy blue tarps. Don't yell at me. I didn't do it. I rescued it. The last picture is when it was first restored. All of the other pictures were taken today. It is a real F100 1/2 ton Short Bed and still has the VIN/Trim tag attached to the driver's door. When it was restored much of the drivetrain and the suspension, as well as the 8 lug 3/4 ton axles and some other pieces, from a donor F250 Ranger were transferred to this truck. Ed Hale rebuilt the 390 cubic inch V-8 just before he passed away. Rebuilt C6 three speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, rebuilt Twin I-beam front suspension, replaced Dana 60 rearend, replaced steering gear, custom oversized radiator.
Since I have had the truck and it had been sitting for a long period, I have had the following professionally done at my mechanics. New battery, new starter, new solenoid, brakes gone through, new gas tank and sending unit, carburetor rebuild, new spark plugs, some wiring re-done, and a bunch of stuff that I am forgetting. The Ford runs great now. The body is actually very solid. The floorboards, frame, and rockers are great. The bed is very solid. It is a straight truck. There are a couple of small rust bubbles on each door. There is some rust in the drip rails. The doors fit very nicely. I have ton of extra parts (the bed is almost full) that are included. Horn rings, new in the plastic weatherstripping, a bunch of trim pieces, a solid rear window if you don't like the slider, carburetors, etc. The gauge cluster is not bolted in. The old guy said he couldn't even remember why he took it out but there are two or three different ones to choose from to re-install. I have the glovebox door, radio, and the ashtray. All in all, it is a very solid and hard to find truck at a great price. I have the fourth matching aluminum wheel in the bed. The tire just had a slow leak and I never had it fixed. Shortbeds have gone through the roof in value, both the Chevy C10 and Fords. Personally, I am not a huge fan of the word but this thing does have the Patina look that people are actually trying to fake these days. This would make a great Shop Truck, Surf Wagon, or restore it to it's former glory and drive it. Please be realistic with your expectations. I have posted as many pictures as possible of good and bad. I want to be honest and upfront from the beginning so there are no surprises. I want you to be happy with your new truck. I am located in Cardiff, CA in North County Coastal San Diego. Clean, clear CA title in hand. Inspections in person are encouraged. Thanks and good luck!
I can help with transportation either getting it loaded on a truck or assisting you however I can at the buyer's expense. Inspections are encouraged but must be completed before the end of the auction. $1000 non refundable deposit due at auction end and remaining balance due within three working days. Payment must be in the form of cash in person or via certified bank wire transfer. I do my best to accurately describe the vehicle to the best of my abilities.
