1985 Ford Mustang . Condition is Used.
Just pulled this street rod or race car project out of the garage. It is a 1985 Ford Mustang GT. It is fairly rust free and body is in pretty decent shape. It is a rolling chassis with no engine or transmission. It is an original white car with charcoal interior. It is a factory manual/stick car. It has manual windows and manual rear view mirror.
The car has had extensive work done to the body; Full roll cage; light weight K-frame; sub-frame connectors, weld up rear suspension points. It has a fuel cell and battery enclosure in the back of the car. A nitrous system has been plumbed in the car. The rear axle has been fitted with a 4.56 gear and a spool with strange axle shafts (I don't know what spline number, and I don't really want to pull the axle cover. Also the rear lugs are 5/8 ". The car is fitted with aerospace brakes in the front. In my opinion the front rotors will clean up by the time the car makes it to the staging lanes, but for the sake of argument, I bought 2 new rotors and a new master cylinder for the car when I was interested in doing something with it. I have an engine plate for the car fitted for a small block chevy motor.
The interior is flawless despite the cage work and the race conversion.
This car was on the milan dragway web page at one point in the early 2000s if I'm not mistaken. I bought the car in 2004 and never did anything with it.
The body is most rust free, however the hatch has the usually michigan rust in the seam. See picture.
The paint is fair though nice appearing. There is a small dent on one of the quarter panels from a wrench thrown. Then there is some paint krinkeling on the cowl hood and fender from brake fluid being spilled. :(
There are 2 sets of rims. A set of weld star (don't quote me on the exact wheel type) 8 in in the back and skinny rims in the front. The second set of rims is a set of Hole Shot Drag Star wheels (again don't quote me on the exact wheel type) 10" in the back and skinny rims in the front.
Car sold with a clean open title.
