For sale is our 1953 Ford Customline 239 cubic inch flathead, 4 door sedan, affectionately known to us for the last 10 years as, "Daisy Mae."
It is believed that this car was a former police car because of the factory visor and the twin spotlights which are original with Ford Motor Company markings. The transmission is the standard manual, three speed on the column.
The car has a new master cylinder, new brakes and wheel cylinders at all four corners, new dual exhausts with Fenton cast iron headers, a complete new exhaust system and "Smitty" mufflers from Speedway Motors. Two brand new water pumps and a new six volt battery were also installed in the last few months. We have receipts for parts and labor for $2175.00 and that does not include everything, like the heavy gauge color coded (red and black) welding cables used at the battery and to the solenoid, and then the starter, and also to ground or period correct seat belts, or the custom accessories, such as the spinner hubcaps, to mention just a few.
The original full coverage hub caps, original factory fenders skirts, original oil bath air cleaner, and the original cast iron exhaust manifolds - are also in the trunk.
Potential buyers are encouraged to view the car in person, and your mechanic is also welcome.
Seller is asking $7,500.00
The mileage on the car reads: 28,975. We assume that it was turned over at least once, possibly twice. The motor on the car must have been rebuilt at one point, because the car runs remarkably smooth with no noise or issues.
