Description

NO RESERVE!
This is a really special old truck. Please look closely at the pics and read entire description-some vehicles look better in pictures than they actually are, this one is actually a better vehicle than the pictures show.
First of all- i have not found any rust through anywhere on this Ford. It has been either inside, or under a port for a good portion of its life. It is also remarkably straight, especially for a farm truck. The original owner custom built a front bumper to protect the beautiful grill, and as you can see, it worked. He also lengthened the original hand crank for this reason(included) and also kept the original front bumper(included). The gentleman i bought it from still used it occasionally to haul remodeling supplies around, etc, so it had only sat for a year or 2 without being started. A typical cleaning of the points and some fresh gas and she fired up. Now, I've got a lot of these old trucks running over the years, but not many flat V8's. The previous owner had rigged up some flex pipe coming off the collector pipe on the exhaust manifold, and it had come loose. When I started it, with choke, it fired right away and had the best sound. An open exhaust lope, like an old school dragster, or maybe 2 Harley's running at the same time. As it warmed a little, I backed off the choke and it ran perfectly smooth and amazingly quiet for having little exhaust. For you flathead guys out there, I'm sure this is nothing that exciting, but this engine does have a beautiful sound.
Mechanically, the truck seems overall very solid, but it is going to need the basics, general tune up, plugs, points, wires, etc, simply due to age. Some of the hoses seep, and one of the water pumps is leaking, although it seems to be getting better as it is runs a little. I havn't messed with the lights much, as I have a 12 volt battery in it currently, for ease of starting. The previous owner told me he had them all working, including the turn signals. This has a PTO driven winch for the bed, so it is power up, and power down, and works perfectly. The tires are weathered but decent, and have a lot of tread. Brakes work, but could use some adjustment.
As far as the body goes- i would say it is exceptional for an eighty two year old farm truck. It has a couple of dings here and there but is overall very, very straight with no rust. The crankout windshield even works, and the side windows function properly, instead of wing windows, the window slides back first before going down, as you crank the handle.
Obviously I love old trucks, and could go on and on about this one in particular, but if you have any questions, please feel free to call or text Cort at 620 786 5172. Also this truck will haul easily on a 16 to 18 ft trailer, and it can stay here, free of charge, until you have time to pick it up or arrange shipping, as long as it is paid for. I do have a clear Kansas title for this truck. Please check my feedback, and bid with confidence. Thank you, and good luck!
