Car description

You are bidding on an outstanding two-owner. low original mile 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger pickup equipped with both the Lariat fancy interior/exterior trim package as well as the Trailer Special towing package. It was purchased new locally as the original owner's "fishing truck. and used for recreational purposes only. hence the low miles. Sold to a local farm/ranch family who also used it sparingly as an auxiliary vehicle. It shows beautifully in an older repaint of the original metallic green and bright white paint; not perfect but not in need of repaint unless you want a perfect show truck. let's call it a driver-quality job that appears original until you are right up on it looking for discrepancies. the truck shows very well and turns heads everywhere she goes. The trim is very nice. rear bumper fantastic. front bumper has some oxidation on the upper flat surface but is straight and looks great with the factory fancy bumper guards. Original wheels. wheel covers. and good radial tires. The Ranger trim is all in excellent condition. as you can see from the pictures. there is one small area of very minor body damage where the paint has failed in the wheel well area. about 1" x 5" in size. Very minor. The underside is clean and original. with the forward (main) fuel tank having recently been replaced (gauge works properly still). The power brakes have been done and work perfectly. The power steering is smooth. and the truck drives straight. has an excellent ride quality to it. stays cool. and is extremely responsive. I found that I have been getting close to 15 mpg out of her as well. which is great for a big classic Ford truck! The interior is beautiful. and had a seat cover over the original upholstery since brand-new. I removed it to find the original seat in as-new condition; how often do you find that? The gauge cluster is excellent. all gauges work. in fact everything on this truck works including the cruise control. The radio is the only intermittent thing on it. sometimes works. other times not. Not too important to me. The headliner is great. carpet decent to good with some wear on the driver's side. Dash pad "almost" perfect with one small imperfection. The two-tone green and white door panels are beautiful. too. The Lariat wood grain features also look great. Overall. you'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer original interior where everything still works. The tailgate trim is great. no rust in the bed. very clean and solid underside with no outer-body rust issues. In fact. other than a very minor paint blister area on the passenger side cab (1" or so). right at the bottom of the drip rail. some corrosion and the pinch weld in the passenger side door jamb. and one tiny spot on the driver's floor board (Literally smaller than a dime; I seam-sealed it and called it good). the truck doesn't show any rust issues. Floors are otherwise solid and perfect. cab mounts great. entire underside very clean. not scaly. Under the hood. you will find the truck exactly as it came from the factory; no modifications at all. other than a newer battery. fresh fuel filter and hoses. new plgs. wires. cap. rotor. etc. Runs great; get in. turn the key. and go. This is a fantastic example of what I think is Ford's best design era. the '78-'79 trucks were the pinnacle of 70's styling. in my opinion. This is a good one; buy it. get in. and drive it. Clear title in hand. You may call me at 360-936-9257 with any questions you might have. Please be prepared to remit payment within 3 days of auction's end via bank wire transfer. or deposit into my Bank of America account. While every effort has been made to describe the truck as accurately as possible. it is in fact a 37-year-old classic. and therefore being sold as-is. without warranty or guarantee. expressed. written. or implied. I am not a professional vehicle inspector. rather a classic auto enthusiast with a good eye. I've gone over her thoroughly and disclosed everything I could find. positive and negative. This is a great truck and is going to make someone very happy!
