Car description

No Reserve Auction. Good Luck!1964 Thunderbird Convertible390V8 blockAutomatic TransmissionVIN- 4Y85Z173419It is not currently running. I spent time and money getting her on the road in 2012. time got short. and I put her in storage. The battery has been unhooked since. Please read below under "Engine". If you're looking for an easy late-winter "get it ready for spring" project. this one's not too bad to tackle. I had the brakes gone through. battery. plugs. wires. fluids (invoice in photos) in late 2012. The Top: I stored the car with the top in working order. This was almost 1. 5 years ago at this point. I had been trickling the battery. but other cars and my time got short. so. please consider that the top is in working order. but I do not guarantee that it's perfect. I had a bracket on the passenger side made for the top. and all of the hydraulics gone through (late 2012). Interior: The interior is complete. and actually in quite good condition. It is dusty. but the vinyl looks good. and the dash is not marred or cracked. The brightwork is ok as well. there is some weathering and slight pitting on some interior chrome points. but overall in OK condition. Title: I brought this car down from NH in 2011. it was my Grandfather's. it has been in my family since 1987/88. It is registered in the State of CT in my name. here in Fairfield County. My Thunderbird will be sold with a Bill of Sale ONLY. CT is not an antique vehicle Title State. NOR are they a transferable registration State. therefore. and I stress this. make SURE your State will be OK with this before you bid. as I said above. Bill of Sale. ONLY. any issues with that. please move on. Engine: I had the block gone through with all of the basic "maintenance" procedures. I had hoses and belts and wires replaced etc etc. The intake gasket needs replacement. I deduct this from running the engine. and using carb spray to listen to the leak "suck" in air when sprayed at the contact point. At the moment. I have the idle turned up. since with the loss of vacuum. the engine was at a stalling point. sitting well below it's normal. running RPM idle. I installed a High Heat Intensity hood insulation pad in 2012 as well. I left a puddle underneath some point this winter. it looked like I popped a trans fluid line. so. it will need attention there. Body/Exterior: The body of the Thunderbird is NOT spectacular. there is a good sized scrape/ding on the driver's door (this was actually caused by my Grandfather. circa. 1995 maybe? He was pulling it into the garage after a few to many. ahem. drinks. and clipped the basement pole). I THINK the other wheel spat is under the top. but I cannot confirm that. so. consider one wheel spat missing. The undercarriage has surface rust. and underspray. it is not perfect. but decently solid. Bumpers need a good scrub. possibly re-chrome (depending on your preference). As she sits. she steers. stops. and turns fine (those are 2 year old tires. but they are cheap ones. recommend replacing)There is some cracking at the rear passenger side of the T. near the exhaust exit. Conclusion: Ultimately. this is a car that needs to be properly stripped. prepped and painted. It will shine up nice with a full detail. but there are blemishes. and it is poor quality to look at (paint). If you're looking for a "ready to go" car. this is not for you. It needs some attention and work to be road worthy again. and like aforementioned. I will likely tackle this come spring if she doesn't find a new home. Buyer is responsible for pickup 100%. I will do my best to accommodate in helping though. She's in storage in Bethel. CT. ZIP 06801 for shipping ref. Sold AS IS. WHERE IS condition. No Warranty Expressed/ImpliedVehicle is listed locally for sale as well. I reserve the right to end the auction early if she sells before the end. Acceptable Forms of Payment Are: Certified Bank Check (car will NOT be picked up until this clears). Secure Wire Transfer or (preferred) CASH in Hand at pick-up. PS. because I KNOW someone will ask. YES. the hood is "ajar" in the photos. it opens and shuts just fine. I had left it on the first "catch" Thanks :)
