Car description |

here is my 1933 Ford pickup street rod.
Frame and Suspension. This essentially was a frame off build. When it was built The frame was blasted and powdercoated. Ithas a I beam axle with a reversve eye spring.Things like thefront disc brakes, etc were all new from Speedway Motors. The rearend is a 8" ford and is from a mustang/falcon. The rearend was in excellent condition, so just maintenance stuff was done. It has power brakes. It steers so easy you wouldn't believe it is not power steering. Everything was painted or powdercoated when it was apart, so it looks just as good underneath as it does on top.
Driveline. The goal was to have something dependable, Somethingthat would get great gas mileage, to be ableto use 87 octane without any issues, not to have to have to recess the firewall, and something that I could get parts for at any Napa if I'm on a road trip. Soit wasdecided on av6from a 1991 Chevrolet blazer. The motor was taken apart and completely rebuilt. For the transmissionit has a tried and proven transmission, a turbo 350. Up front is a aluminum radiator.
The interior: the goal was to have modern conveniences with a traditional look. So used the tilt column from that 1991 Chevrolet blazer. The seats are from a mustang which are incredibly comfortable and fit the cab perfectly. The dash is stock with modern gauges.
The body, paint, and chrome speak for themselves. The goal was to havea secure place to store luggage, swap meet scores, etc, which is very hard to do with a stock box. So a custom box was built with a tonneau cover. Looks great, keeps whatevers inside secure and dry.
Basically the truck was meant to look like a old hot rod/custom truck with modern dependability.
