Car description

Take a gander at this gorgeous custom 1968 Ford Mustang that just rolled in. This Mustang has a lot going for it and it starts with jaw dropping looks! It has a brand-new paint job of Ford Matador Red with Slate Gray racing stripes. There are a few nods to the Shelby and California Special Mustangs from 1968. The trunk lid and quarter panel extensions have a built-in spoiler, it features a GT style hood with recessed turn signal indicators... and the GT/CS quarter panel scoops really transform this car from a Pony car to a pure muscle car. The 15” American Racing Torq Thrust wheels have their center sections painted to match the stripes on the car, really tying it all together nicely. The exterior also has new mirrors, door handles, wheel moldings and rear bumper. The interior is in great shape with new black vinyl seat covers, door panels, door handles, seat belts, AM/FM/CD player, B&M shifter and Grant GT steering wheel. The trunk is incredibly clean and ready to show with a correct plaid trunk mat and a new scissor jack. Other new parts include new weather stripping and seals, a new windshield, all new tires and wheel. Let’s get to the meat of the car. It left the factory as a “J code” 302 car, and still has a 302 under the hood today! 1968 was the first year the 302 was offered and real “J code” Mustangs are pretty hard to come by. The engine is built with an Edelbrock Torker II aluminum intake, Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, ceramic paint coated long tube headers running to Flowmaster mufflers and an aluminum radiator to keep it cool. The engine compartment is highly detailed and the Slate Gray was carried over to the valve covers to bring that outside feeling under the hood. That power is then routed to a Ford AOD 4-speed automatic transmission and out back to a Ford 9” rear end. Factory power front disc brakes provide plenty of stopping power for this coupe!
