1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible. And what a 66 Thunderbird Convertible this truly is ladies and Gentlemen. I've owned this t-bird for about 5 years and have contrived to detail and point out everything I can think of in the 15 minute video attached above. So please take the time to watch my video if you are serious about purchasing this rare and frame off restored bird. I purchased in Florida about 5 years ago. When I bought the car it needed really nothing at all. I dropped the top and started driving it everywhere immediately. It needed nothing then and needs nothing now. I've only performed normal maintenance on it thru the years. In 1995 a complete and costly frame off restoration was performed that took 3 years to complete. Absolutely everything on the car was taken apart and either replaced or redone or restored. Without including the real cost of the car itself before the restoration started; the restoration cost $95,577 dollars in 1995-1998 money. In todays money this would be approximately $130,000. I do not have enough space to write down all that was completed on the car. I did, however, photo all of the receipts to prove what I am claiming. The original Q code 428 cubic inch engine was removed and rebuilt as new. It even had hardened valve seats and stems installed in order to run safely on todays modern gas without lead in it. I have consistently run 93 octane non ethanol gas and it runs perfect with no pinging, starts quick and fast every time. If it has been sitting less than 3 days I do not even touch the gas. It starts immediately. An example of the no cost craziness to this restoration, full white leather was installed at a cost of $8000. Even the clock keeps better time than any of my watches. I have included 241 photos ofthe car. Before you call me with a whole bunch of questions, please look at my photos, description and video. It will answer a lot of your questions. I have owned mid 60's Thunderbirds on and off for the last 26 years. Theyare beautiful cars with an incredible drive and presence that is quite addictive. This particular example is not only the best one I have ever seen or owned but also probably the most fun car I have ever owned. Even last summer I was invited to the Canastota NY boxers hall of fame weekend parade where I had Mike Tyson riding in the back seat for an hour or so. Photos of this will be included in the sale. The car has ice cold air conditioning and as far as I know all options work on the car as advertised except perhaps the cruise control. I am not sure if that works or not. I have put approximately 2200 miles on the car during my 5 year tenure and the car never left me stranded by the side of the road once !!!! That's a powerful statement for a 53 year old car. I may consider a partial trade on the car depending on what you have to offer. I am located in Clinton NY. I'll be happy to show the car off in person to anyone with an appointment. My number is 315-853-1967. I DO NOT accept text messages nor will I respond to one if you decide to send me one anyways. Thank you. Michael Stanton
