Car description

1972 Ford f250 3/4 ton 4x4 Crew Cab 1972 ford 4x4 factory highboy crew cab short bed. Solid truck. Runs and drives. Clear title. Rare to find crew cab short bed. Very good project. Below are all the details. Feel free to ask questions. Let me know if you want to do something early on it. I can help with shipping if needed. The last pic is of a restored truck like this. MECHANICAL This pickup has the inline 300 six cylinder. It may be the original engine, as this truck came with a 300 six originally. 4-speed manual transmission. Divorced transfer case, as it should have. Closed knuckle front-end, non-power drum brakes. Non-power steering. This has the 4.10 gear ratio with the dana 60 rearend. The rear axle appears to have a bad pinion bearing. The pinion is loose but the slack seems like the bearing is bad, not the pinion. Maybe it needs shims or a bad bearing race? I didn't take it apart to fix it. I took the driveline out, then got sidetracked on something else and too the truck out of my shop. The driveline is included with the ujoints and hardware. It's in 4x4 now and using the front axle to move the truck and load it. The truck mechanically may be mostly original. I can check the numbers on the engine if it matters to you. The . I would replace all the fluids and do a basic tuneup. Not that it needs it, but it's good to do them and know when they've been changed. I would recommend the brakes be checked, lube job, etc. Engine starts up fine and doesn't smoke. Runs good. Runs smooth, doesn't tick or knock. It's a 300 six. They are very tough engines. Good torque. I know most people will switch to a v8 or diesel for more power. The transmission and clutch work as they should. 4x4 works. Brakes work but master cylinder is a little sticky. The brakes should be bled and checked out. The exhaust is fine but it comes out under the cab a bit. I'd fix it to exit on the side. The am radio works! yea! Lights, heater fan, wipers work. Wheels and tires are rollers but the tires could be used for a summer if your on a budget. It needs some tinkering but it won't need much to get it on the road. BODY The body is very solid for a project. It was painted once, from the original medium blue to a bright yellow. I put some nicer body parts on it that I had. Included is the original drivers door, with the original data/vin plate. The title, data plate, and factory doorjam sticker vin's all match. The body needs some work. I do not have a short box for it. I do have a long box that can go with it. These can be shortened, or lengthen the frame to have a CCLB. I can help locate a shortbed possibly and get it bolted on it before transport. Either way is fine with me. The longbox I have is in nice shape too. The hood, front fenders, and front doors are good with no rust-through. The rear doors need low patches on the outer skins. The core support and inner fenders have rust which is common on bumpsides. They are usable but should be switched out if your doing a restoration. Inner fenders could be patched pretty easy. Core support would be easier to change. Minor rust on small rocker between the doors. The cab has some rust which I'll detail here: Front floorpans need redone. One rear cab corner needs fixed and the replacement is included. Front cab mounts are starting to rust. That's common on these models also. Floor supports are rusted on the ends. Those replacement panels, and every panel this truck needs is either included or reproduced. They are fairly inexpensive also. No dents or anything in the roof. Rear floors are nice. Rear floor pans are fine. INTERIOR The interior is pretty basic in these trucks. No power anything. The pics tell the story. Both seats are original. The dashpad needs replaced. It needs carpet, new armrests, etc. It's pretty easy to do the interiors on these trucks. The seats are comfortable and the springs aren't broken down. Sunvisors are in it. Front cardboard style original headliner is in it. The back one isn't but the hardware is there. These are cheap to buy new. This classic ford is 47 years old and sold as-is
