1990 Ford F250 XLT Lariat super cab long bed 4x4 with Cummins 24 Valve turbo diesel and 5 speed manual tranny. "FUMMINS".
This is a custom truck so listed below is what's been done to it along with condition and additional items that would go with the truck if sold. I have receipts and service documents on this truck for proof if needed. I am the second owner of this truck but might as well be the original as it was originally purchased new by my parents in 1990. I've had the truck for 11 years now and throughout my ownership I have done several upgrades and modifications to make it better for what I needed which was a diesel truck without paying 80K for one. Truck was originally equipped with the 5.8L 351 gas engine which was removed and replaced with a 1998.5 Cummins 24 valve turbo diesel. Donor truck was a rolled 1998 Dodge Ram 2500. The Dodge truck had 203K miles on it when I removed the Cummins and I have since put 13K miles on the truck. The Dodge donor truck was completely stock and the engine was not modified in any way to my knowledge and inspections, still having its original injection pump with no wire-tapping for programmers. I purchased a FordCummins conversion kit and swapped out the engines. Additional items followed:
-7K miles on fully rebuilt ZF 5 speed manual transmission.
-7K miles on Southbend Dual Disk clutch kit.
-133K miles on stock Sterling rear axle.
-133K miles on stock Dana 50 front axle with manual locking hubs.
-133K miles on stock BW1356 transfer case.
-1K miles on new rear driveshaft centering bearing.
-Rough Country Anti wrap traction control bars installed on rear axle 2 years ago.
- Door lock actuators and window motors replaced 2 years ago.
-Viper keyless entry with anti-theft starter lockout. (2 sets of keys with key fobs).
-Fully sealed interior with double layered sound insulation and heat barrier installed throughout cab and outside firewall 2 years ago.
-5K miles on new Fass 150 fuel system with water separator and fuel filter assembly and new 1/2" fuel lines. Dual fuel tanks converted so rear tank is now a transfer tank for the front fuel tank controlled off OEM dash switch.
-5K miles on new VP44 injection pump. Original failed due to I was using the original in tank pumps with a regulator. Wasn't getting enough fuel to the injection pump.
-Stock HX35 turbo with block off plate for waste gate.
-300 miles on new silicone boost hoses and band clamps.
-Custom built aluminum intercooler.
-300 miles on new high performance aluminum 3 core radiator, water pump, belt tensioner, HD fan clutch and HD belt.
-3K miles on new alternator.
-3K miles on rebuilt engine vacuum pump assembly.
-Auxiliary vacuum canister.
-7K miles on new AC compressor. AC blows very cold on all speeds, heat works well and all vacuum actuators work for any of the available settings.
-3K miles on new 4" custom exhaust system with muffler and chrome tip.
-3K miles on new Edge Comp programmer.
-Fully functional OBD2 diagnostics port for engine computer.
-5K miles on new 100HP injectors.
-K&N wet cone air filter assembly.
-3K miles on new Interstate dual group 60 batteries (1 year old).
-3K miles on new soldered battery cables.
-3K miles on new Big O metric version 35"x12.50"x16" all terrain tires with matching full-size spare on 16" black aluminum alloy rims (1 year old tires, 7 year old rims).
-7K miles on new Rough Country 4" suspension lift kit. (Blocks in rear and new leaf springs in front).
-4K miles on new drag link and tie rods with laser alignment.
-7K miles on new steering stabilizer kit.

-New headlight assemblies. Also have the OEM assemblies that will come with the truck.
-Still have the original chrome wheel well trim assemblies that will come with the truck. (Not installed)

-New Pioneer 6" door speakers and a 500 watt amplified slimline 10" sub-woofer.
-Side steps from a newer model crew cab Ford truck modified for fitment.
-Bed rails protected with aluminum diamond plating.
-Tri pod pillar mounted AutoMeter gauges showing fuel pressure, EGT'S and boost pressure.
-Tri pod lower dash mounted generic gauges showing oil pressure, water temperature and battery voltage.

-All OEM Ford gauges work and communicate with engine which includes oil pressure, water temperature, voltage, tachometer and speedo.
-Windshield wipers with functional delay. Has new delay module, switch assembly and wiper motor installed 1 year ago.
-Headlight switch and dimmer switch replaced 1 year ago.
-Ignition switch replaced 2 months ago.
-Interior in great shape.
-rear bench seat folds into a useable storage space.
-Arizona only truck... Absolutely NO RUST on body or frame.
-I have countless documented photographs of this build.
Issues with truck:
-Rear bench seat is starting to tear in one section of stitching.
-Carpet around the manual shifter and transfer case shifter is edge exposed due to having to move the tranny back for engine conversion.
-There's an oil stain in the carpet near the shifter which has been there since the truck was new.
-There's a small 1/4" tear in the middle of the headliner.
-Tilt steering assembly is worn out. It will not stay in the upper three positions, meaning if enough pressure is pushed downward on the steering wheel it will fall down lower. It stays locked in on the two lower settings fine.
-There's a few cracks in the dash bezel near the glove box.
-There's no way to get a functioning check engine light so you may want to get a quality scanner and monitor the trucks engine computer regularly for issues. Thus far no fault codes exist except for the engine is looking for the original Dodge chassis / transmission computer which is obviously gone and its looking for the original fuel lift pump which is also gone.
-The Cummins engine is unfortunately a "53" block. There is NO evidence of cracking in the block and the research I've put into it says if they don't crack within 100K miles they probably won't. It's really a gamble but again I've been in cold regions and follow warm up procedures. The original Dodge truck was out of Utah in a colder area near Cedar City so I would assume it would have done something by now had there been casting issues.
-There's a defect in the paint on the rear passenger bedside body line that slowing increasing in size (Chipping).
-There's a section on the hood where the paint popped due to hitting the underside of the hood (Not spreading).
-Paint does have some "Desert pin striping" on its sides from being driven off road but could be easily buffed out.
-The engine will run hotter when towing a heavy load up hills but I have not seen it actually overheat. I have seen the engine hit close to 230 degrees during these short times which is something very common even in the stock Dodge Cummins trucks so I did some cooling modifications to help this but it only slowed the heat progression. It will still hit these temps if you push the engine hard while towing.
Overall this has been an excellent and reliable truck for the last 5 years. I've done all the hard work with getting the bugs out of it. I recently towed my 10K pound camper 3K miles to Montana and back during a 2 week period having no major issues aside from a rear driveline centering bearing failure. It’s very powerful and will burn the tires off if you let it. Doing the math with mods completed the engine should be producing close to 400-450HP and 700-800Lbs of torque. Boost peaks around 40psi and EGT’s hover around 900 while towing and peak around 1200 on hills. It does get very good fuel mileage. Towing my camper I get around 12-13 MPG'S and unloaded it gets around 16-20 MPG'S depending on city or highway driving.
I am open to reasonable negotiations and communication for serious inquires only. The truck is in Page, AZ and is my daily driver currently. There's a few videos of this trucks build on YouTube. You can search "snm76" in YouTube's search engine and it should show several before build, after build and action videos. I am sad to see this truck go but it’s a financial necessity right now. Need to start working on other projects.
