Car description |

1968 J-code original Highland Green Mustang Convertible, V8 manual transmission, runs, drives and stops, not inspected, not yet road worthy. Great restoration candidate as original or Shelby clone. Has new fuel tank with sending unit, new tires, new 4 barrel carburetor, radiator, brakes have been redone, power top works. Original quarter panels have very minor rust in the very bottoms, RH rear quarter needs a little bodywork up top where someone already started sanding, both quarters are original and do not need replacing, trunk drops are good. Some parts of the floor have been previously repaired. Small area of rust in each of the doors at the front lower corners. Fender aprons do not show signs of rust, holes have been cut for greasing the upper control arm bushings. Frame rails appear good and solid, this is a pretty solid car compared to most, especially convertibles, needs minor, typical patches. Windshield has a few dings. Hood has some rust at the front, very fixable and pretty straight otherwise. Trunk lid is damaged, have an extra used original to go with the car. Since the hood has some rust and the trunk lid has damage, it seemed to be a perfect candidate for a Shelby clone. A friend of mine has a Shelby front end and side scoops as shown in the last picture, which are NOT INCLUDED in this price, but are available for purchase separately with or without the car, these parts were removed from a wrecked Shelby several decades ago and are very high quality parts, some may be original Shelby, not sure. The Shelby photo is the direction I wanted to go with the car but just don't have the time right now. Make me an offer! Please see the pictures, ask all questions before bidding and feel free to contact me to see the car (512)560-9002.
