1966 Ford Mustang. A lot has been done to this mustang over the years. It started out as a standard 6 cylinder car with a C4 auto trans, manual drum brakes, 4 lug suspension and all.
It still has the 6 cylinder 200. When I bought it had poor compression and I had the head rebuilt as that was the cause for compression loss. Has hardened seats now and compression cold is at 155 on all 6 cylinders. I upgraded the standard carb to a 2 barrel Weber with an adapter from vintage inlines to mount it. Has a fuel pressure regulator to make sure fuel psi stays at 3.5psi. Has a HEI style electronic ignition with DUI wires. Running dual exhaust from a Clifford header. The engine is otherwise stock aside from what was mentioned above.
Trans is the stock C4 automatic or green dot transmission.
I upgraded the suspension last summer from the stock 4 lug to all V8 style stuff. Has all new control arms upper and lower, tie rod ends/sleeves, center link and an 8" rear end that is an open diff, can't recall the gear set that's in it but it came from another 66. The rear diff has all new bearings throughout and seals. Rear suspension has new bushings for the leaf springs and 1" lowering blocks to bring it to the perfect height. Front is lowered via the Shelby drop.
The brakes were upgraded at the same time last year with the suspension. It now has power disc brakes up front with new spindles (V8 style). Stock rear brakes in the rear but we're completely rebuilt. New headlines and soft lines for brakes (except hardline under the hood upfront).
New wheels and tires last year as well at the same time as the suspension and brakes.
The body is rust free as I replaced what was rusty. I also painted the car with single stage Omni black and metallic green stripes. The paint is a good 15 footer that could be great if color sanded and cut/buffed. Just haven't had the time to do so. Body/paint work was done 7 years ago. Bumpers are new this year.
Interior is in great shape. I replaced the carpet, recovered the front seats and the rear is original. New dash pad. Headliner has one small tear in it and is original.
The Mustang is a 6 cylinder car but with all of the suspension upgrades and brakes it can be an easy V8 conversion if someone wanted to do so.
This is my wife's car and I built it for her to be a fun summer cruiser when she wants to cruise. She has recently fell out of wanting to cruise it and wants to sell it for something else.
Car runs, drives and stops great. It's hard to see this one go but the wife has the word on this one.
Clean title in our name.
