1939 Ford Deluxe Coupe
Up for sale from the private collection of a knowledgeable and trusted collector car dealer is this beautifully preserved icon of pre-WWII American styling - the Ford Deluxe Coupe.
If you had a contest for artists and said, draw a beautiful car and this design was entered, it would be a finalist for sure. We'll never see it again.
As they say, they are only original once. Astonishingly original survivor.
Please read on and enjoy. All comments in "quotes" are from the long term investor's personal notes --
"These V-8s are real scarce because they were very popular as race cars post WWII."
"They were the first Ford car with hydraulic brakes and they weighed less than the sedan, so they were bought cheap, driven hard and then junked."
"It's really rare to find one that hasn't been restored. This low-mileage original, in the original black, has never been taken apart.
"The glass has never been replaced and still shows the old "Ford" and the date of manufacture in each panel."
"It was owned by the first owner for over 30 years as shown on the original title."
Period Correct AC! -
Attention to details and craftsmanship abound -
Stainless trim is well preserved throughout. Look at those lines!
In 1939 the Deluxe models received a lower more aggressive grill line.
"It has never been bent"
The interior is in excellent shape throughout --
"The clutch and transmission work like a new car." A time capsule.
The rear end lines of the 2-door coupe are distinct. They are what really make this car stand out.
Split window in the rear, simply awesome to look at from every angle.
The "business end" of the Deluxe Coupe. Large enough to store a large inventory - or even a mattress!
Super tidy engine bay. Not overdone, ready to be enjoyed.
Just imagine -- this quality and technology at the end of the great depression. Impressive history.
Straight up reliable.
Interior Option - the "Opera" seat. The Ford Deluxe Coupe is a true front seat coupe. But these seats allowed little ones to ride along.
Pedestal leg that allows for folding out of the way. A grocery-getter ready for action!
Dealer's company emblem below trunk handle.
There she is. Storage unit on wheels! "Original Trunk mat".
"It has Ford logos on all the double white wall tires, even the spare."
Lines and details like these are what set the Deluxe Coupes apart. Timeless.
An innovation for the time, sealed beam headlights of the '39.
Original manuals and vintage brochures to help you enjoy this classic -
Art Deco that drives like new!
