Car description

This is an one-owner, all-original unrestored 1968 Shelby Cobra Mustang GT500 Fastback. With matching numbers, VIN and door codes, this rare classic is presented in Acapulco Blue (Ford #3077-A) with a Saddle Vinyl (Decor Group code 6F) interior. The REAL DEAL. Featuring all-original rust-free sheet metal, this California car is fully-operational and has remained in the Northern California East Bay Area since purchase 04/19/1969 from Ole Olsen at Fremont Ford in Fremont, CA. Presented with original Bill of Sale. And though not technically a "barn find," it has been stored by the owner for several decades and was only recently serviced to become drivable again. It has a dent in the center of the rear bumper and minor damage to the front fiberglass clip, but nothing serious. Frame is lazer straight. With all original interior and paint, this Shelby is one of 1,140 GT500 Fastbacks built for Shelby Automotive by the A.O. Smith Company in Michigan, where Shelby production moved for 1968.
It comes equipped with the original factory-installed 428ci/360hp Police Interceptor big-block engine, original aluminum intake manifold topped by a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and an oval open-element air cleaner with finned aluminum Cobra valve covers. In addition to its Shelby equipment, this GT500 is also equipped with a factory automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, power steering, power front disc brakes, tinted glass, tilt pop-a-way steering wheel and shoulder harness.
