Car description |

2 owner 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible. Car is incredibly complete and original. The paint is decent with some blemishes. It appears to have been repainted at one time. The chrome is a little hazy but may polish up.
The interior is complete including tissue dispenser! There is a tear on the driver's seat. The carpet is faded and there is wear elsewhere. This is the interior the factory installed 54 years ago! A good cleaning and a new carpet would improve it. All useable as is though.
The power top hadn't been put up in many years but went up with no issues. I didn't see any holes but it isn't real presentable. It is useable as is. The boot is in good shape.
The engine is a 289. The starter didn't want to stay engaged but it did start on the second try. It ran well with no noises at all. I do think the choke was stuck as it stayed on fast idle. There are oil leaks typical of the age. I would change the valve cover gaskets and oil pan gasket rebuild the carb and run it.
The trunk and floor boards look great! The only issue I saw was rust in the inner rockers. The bottoms are open. Thinking they could be patched up without a complete replacement. The rest of the car is rust free. Doors and quarters are perfect. The frame still has black paint on it.
Overall a great original car. Very complete and hard to find. 73,000 original miles! It was purchased new in Milwaukee WI at Sorens Ford. A weekend of TLC would have this car ready to take some long drives.
I'm listing it for some friends so it may take a little longer than normal to respond to questions. I do have more pics. Send me an email address and I'll forward them.
