Car description

Restored & Documented GT500 Fastback 428CJ V8 Automatic Factory A/C /// Starting life at Chaffee Motors in Hawthorne, California, this Ford is the beneficiary of a detailed restoration that transformed a solid hobby horse into a battle-ready snake. A fresh coat of correct Candyapple Red 2-stage was layered over straight sheetmetal and accented with familiar gold stripes. And today, this coupe rolls as a 'can't miss' favorite that easily puts most muscle cars to shame! Twist the polished hood ties... and you'll find the storied, 428 cubic inch Cobra Jet V8 that looks as fresh as the day it rolled out of the restoration shop. Long regarded as one of the meanest MoTown mills ever created, Ford's fabled Cobra Jet utilized revised heads, heavy duty Le Mans connecting rods and a nodular iron crank to ensure Shelby-branded Mustangs remained the kings of stoplight muscle. Bottom-side, a Ford's heavy duty C6 3-speed automatic transmission spins a equally heavy duty 9-inch axle. That drivetrain rides a fully restored suspension that's augmented with factory power steering. Factory power front disc and rear drum brakes provide smooth stops. And torque meets the pavement through polished Shelby wheels and F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs. Between the doors, a correct Black Clarion Knit vinyl interior mixes a correct combination of Hi-Back and Sport Deck seats with enough style to swerve down the red carpet. In front of those seats, a Carroll Shelby-autographed dash plants an 8,000 RPM tachometer and a 140 MPH speedometer above factory air conditioning and upfitted Sony audio. Below that dash, a factory console floats a traditional shifter and small accessory gauges on fade-free carpet that's protected by red-trimmed mats. And in front of the driver, an upfitted Rim Blow Steering Wheel laps a correct Tilt-Away column. Documented, registry-listed and fully restored, this 1969 GT500 drives and sounds every bit as good as it looks. Call, click or visit for more information.
