I have been working on this project for more than 20 years and it is within reach of being completed but I have aged and lost interest so it's time to move on.
The truck was torn down to the frame and restoration began with the installation of juice brakes disc/drum, the wiring loom is from an 85' Lincoln Town Car, power window/seats regulators, tilt wheel, cruise control, under floor battery compartment, under floor power brake system, keyless entry and many other extras. The 21 stud engine has been bored .80 over and stroked using a Merc crank taking it from 221 cid to 236 cid and capped with CYCLONE aluminum racing heads with about 10 to 1 compression. The cam is a genuine original Weber F-1 (street racing) with adjustable lifters. Power transfer is through an aluminum flywheel and heavy duty clutch. The engine has been balanced by Lewis Racing in Laytonville Cal, the headers are custom made by Red's Headers in Fort Bragg Cal and the drive line was custom built by Santa Rosa Drivelines in Santa Rosa Cal to mate the T-5 five speed to a 65' Mustang 9" third member with posi. A custom made saddle has been installed over the center main bearing to handle the extra thrust. The number of extras on this hot rod is extensive.
The connection to the T-5 tranny and the V-8 Flathead is via an aluminum bell housing from Offenhauser for use with the original brake and clutch pedals and an aluminum fly wheel. To feed this V-8 an Edelbrock tri-power aluminum manifold was installed along with three #94 carbs linked with progressive linkage. The ignition is a custom made split distributor using two coils. The doors have been converted to suicide style hidden hinge system and the handles shaved for a smooth appearance. The most unique feature is the custom built windshield wiper system. The vent scoop in the cowl has been modified so that it opens forward to allow the rise of the wipers on a track which at full extension work as they normally would. When turned off they retract back into the cowl and the scoop closes behind them completely hiding the system
Included are two sets of gauges, new glass all around, two sets of front and rear fenders, one set of running boards, original shock absorbers, box and tail gate, engine shroud, a modified grill, radiator, electric radiator fan, cast iron racing heads and many extra parts. There are a few mechanical items that need attention such as completing the steering system, installing a heating system, installing the electric fuel pump and a number of small things that always need to be done. Then it's a matter of finishing the body work, paint and upholstery. It's up to you as to how far you want to take it but the '37 is close to being complete. Note: The truck has been sitting for several years and has accumulated dust and surface rust on some of the metal parts. It's dirty.
NOTICE: Listing and payment terms. READ!!! Accepted payment will only be in the form of cash or bank transfer, no exceptions. NO TRADES!
