Car description

Go big or go home. You've heard the saying, but now you can live it with this 1954 Ford F-1 4x4 pickup. It's definitely big, and packs enough blasting powder under the hood in the form of a 350 inch V8 to back up its outrageous looks. It's also still fully functional as a truck and thanks to an updated interior, it's ready for anything! It seems counter-productive to build a truck that can go anywhere then... wrap it in impressive bodywork and sparkling Burgundy Metallic paint, but that's certainly the case here. One glance down the flanks on this big Ford hauler will convince you that a significant amount of time went into the sheetmetal prep and the results speak for themselves. It's not so perfect that you'll be afraid to use it as intended, but it certainly gets more than its fair share of appreciative glances going down the street. Bright burgundy isn't a traditional truck color, but this 4x4 Ford wears it better than most, and with a couple custom tricks like the cut-outs on the hood, the custom tailgate, and the diamond tread plate that lines the inside of the bed and toolbox, this truck is sure to stand out more than most. Most of the OEM steel was left intact, and with the lift kit and Chevy 4x4 frame that the body now sits on, the original wheel houses have plenty of room for those giant tires. The bright chrome bumpers and trim glitters against the bodywork, and it proudly wears Ford badges on the tailgate and hood. The list of new stuff inside is extensive and includes just about all the soft parts. The original bench seat was dumped in favor of a set of modern APC racing buckets upholstered in durable and comfortable cloth that provide plenty of bolster support. Custom diamond tread plate on the door panels match the floorboards, and the headliner and back of the cab is upholstered with diamond-patterned vinyl. It's got a three-spoke Grant steering wheel and a tilt steering column, plus a few accessory gauges to augment the Auto Meter instruments ahead of the driver, all neatly integrated into the painted dash. A column shifter manages a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, with a familiar lever for the 2-speed transfer case on the floor. The high seating position gives you a commanding view of traffic and there's an AM/FM/CD stereo in the dash that sounds great. Something this big shouldn't also be quick, but thanks to a 350 cubic inch V8, this truck feels plenty punchy around town and cruises easily at modern highway speeds. The chassis is from an '80s GM pickup, so the hardware is robust and easy to service, and the driving manners are OEM. Power steering and power front disc brakes are probably mandatory on a truck this big, and the engine has been augmented with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake manifold. The tidy engine bay was painted to match the body, and showcases bright chrome valve covers and a matching air cleaner on the small block V8. Wiring and plumbing were neatly routed for a sanitary look, and they stuck to high-end parts whenever possible for reliability. The suspension is augmented with a modest lift, heavy-duty shocks, steering stabilizer, urethane bushings, and a variety of other off-road-ready hardware, so you don't have to worry about hitting the trails. Flashy Mickey Thompson wheels with giant 285/75/16 Cooper off-road radials offer plenty of traction and great looks, too. Go anywhere, carry anything, and get a lot of attention doing it, this rare F-1 4x4 covers all the bases. Call today!
