Car description |
---|
This 1948 Ford F4 is a true worktruck of it's day. Originally from Colorado, the truck was used to haul boulders out of the mountains. It was driven to New York State in 1982 by a local man (we have his contact info) who drove it here for a few years. It changed hands a couple of times, and my Dad bought it in the early 1990s and performed a complete body off frame restoration. All of the bodywork on the cab was done professionally. The engine was professionally rebuilt. Since then we have used it for parades and car shows. Dad is selling because he needs to make some more room in the garage for other toys.
The body work is outstanding. It was a rust free truck to begin with. All body work was done properly with a hammer and dolly. The paint work is extremely nice, probably 4.5 out of 5. The paint on the wood in the bed is a little cracked and split from wood drying out over the years. But it is still presentable and serviceable as is.Mechanically the truck is as good as new. It fires right up, and runs smooth and strong. It has a our speed, with a granny low. You can literally pop it in first and climb out and walk alongside the truck. The interior is perfect. Rubber floormats, vinyl seats, headliner, all new at the time of restoration and well preserved since then. The glass is all good. Underneath is excellent. No rust, not even hardly any road grime.
I am happy to provide any more photos or answer any questions. I am also happy to show the truck at any time so you can take it for a spin. I have a transporter I have used and can recommend if you need help moving it.
This is for sale locally and on Craigslist, which is why we are doing a buy-it-now not an auction. I will take this listing down as soon as it sells whether inside or outside of eBay.
The odometer reads 4775.7 as of 7/29. I guarantee it's been around at least once.NY is a non-title state for vehicles built before 1972. The truck will come with a transferable registration, which is all you'll need. Ownership is free and clear, so no problems there.
I'll expect a $500 deposit within 48 hours of purchasing and a cashiers check or cash within 7 days.
