This is a 1959 Ford Convertible. I am listing this car for a friend. Due to some impending financial obligations. car is being offered no reserve. with a modest starting bid. This '59 Fairlane Sunliner Convertible recently came out of 25+ year dry storage. It is in stock condition. equipped with B-code 352 with 2-barrel carb. cruisomatic transmission. manual steering. and manual brakes. This factory Inca Gold(yellow) Ford is in need of full restoration. but is very straight for its age. Car is missing a few items including hub caps. air cleaner. nd passenger side front air duct. but other than the top switch knob. it looks like all of the "convertible only" parts are here. Car was supposedly repainted about 30 years ago. Body is decent for a mid-western car. but its appears to have had usual rocker panel replacement and repair over headlights. Doors open and close nicely. but rear bottom corner of each door shows repair. Rear quarter panels appear solid. but probably have had some repair. If examined closely. both rear wheel tubs do have some rust thru. and there is some rust out near boot molding. on top of passenger side quarter panel(see pic). Several baseball sized rust holes are present on left & right front floor boards(see pics). but remainder of floor(including rear foot wells) appear to be original and very solid(see pics). Majority of trunk floor is solid. but there is rust thru at the 4 corners. and a small hole on edge of spare tire well(see trunk floor pics). Convertible top frame is very straight. with no bent. broken. or cracked parts. Front top header is solid. and the stainless molding on front of top frame is very nice. Top frame has been temporarily disconnected from top cylinders. and it manually moves freely up & down with excellent alignment. Original interior is in poor condition. but all of the seat frames are sold and straight. Also. nbsp;as stated earlier. all of the distinctive convertible interior moldings are present. in nice condition. Windshield is good. but has a couple small wiper scratches that might need to be polished out. Both door windows roll up & down properly. but both have broken glass that needs to be replaced. The remainder of the glass in car is good. Engine is believed to be the original '59 unit. but intake manifold is from a '64 Ford. and carb is from the '70's era. Engine was supposedly test fired recently by pouring gas in carb. but actual condition of driveline is un-known. Due to age and long storage. normal service or rebuild of mechanics will probably be in order. Car has clear Indiana title. Mileage on speedometer indicates 101046mi. . which is documented as actual on title. Car is availlable for personal inspection here in Indianapolis. IN. nbsp;in a dry. heated. and well-lighted building. Please email. or call Karl 317-361-8522 for appointment to view car or with any other questions. A $500. 00 paypal deposit is required with-in 24 hours of the end of auction. and balance to be paid with-in 7 days. Car is to be picked up here in Indianapolis. IN with-in 30 days. unless other arrangements are made. (Funds must clear before pick up). This old Ford should make for an affordable start for a fun and rewarding restoration of a classic '50's ragtop. Your bid buys neat 1959 Ford Sunliner Convertible needing restoration as shown.
