I am listing this for my neighbor, who does not have a computer. I have tried to be as clear and informative as possible; but no doubt there will be questions, so please feel free to ask. I can post more photos in responses to viewer questions.
Up for auction is this amazing, original 1978 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger that the owner purchased new, just as the newly re-designed Broncos were coming out. It was on display at the Portland Auto Show, and he purchased it after the show ended.
It is a very desirable color combination of Wimbledon White with green (Dark Jade Metallic) accents and and green interior.
Everything works and is in great condition. There is no rust or damage, other than a little light wear here and there.
The fiberglass roof is in perfect shape and has remained on the body most of its life, except when stored carefully on a hoist in the garage.
The sale includes many of the original documents, including the owners manual, owner warranty card, original keys and more.
There was no original window sticker, but a typed inventory price sheet is included, which states:
I would describe the condition on the Hagerty scale somewhere between #3 Good and #4 Excellent. There are a few minor scratches to the paint and a tear has started in the surface of the vinyl along the side edge of the driver's seat. The original vinyl seats were too slippery and hot, so in the 1990s were reupholstered in a rich crushed velour fabric that is in outstanding condition, as are the plastics and chrome.
Overall, it is obvious how carefully and lovingly this vehicle has been maintained and used. For many years, it was the owner's wife's daily driver and occasional vacation vehicle. It has always garaged and run and serviced regularly. The heaviest object is has towed was a trailer for 2 motorcycles.
The vehicle may be viewed in Portland, Oregon by appointment only. I am happy to work with a buyer's representative and to assist on this end with shipping (eBay offers several good shipping options).
Note: Please do not place a bid unless you are prepared to go through with the sale and make an immediate $1000 down-payment through PayPal. Balance due within 10 days, payable by cashiers check or electronic funds transfer. Thank you and good luck!
