This gorgeous 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible is truly one of a kind and is going to make its next lucky owner one really happy camper!! The restoration and build started back in 2010 by a gentleman in Oregon who knew what he wanted....a stand out '67 Pony Convertible that had plenty of "Giddy Up" under the hood with the addition of some modern features like Power 4 wheel disc brakes, Power windows, power door locks etc. all wrapped up in a car that looked pretty stock with just a few really cool custom touches. It was a long, slow process and unfortunately before the car was completed the owner passed away. His wife asked the shop to finish the car which they did in 2017. She thought perhaps she would drive and enjoy the car in his memory but unfortunately this was unrealistic on her part and she realized the car deserved to go to someone who would really enjoy and appreciate it. A gentleman in the Atlanta, GA located it and was thrilled as he was really searching for the ultimate Mustang Classic to bring back some of those memories of his youth. He had the car shipped via an enclosed trailer and it was everything he hoped it would be. Unfortunately, due to some health issues he is no longer able to drive the 5-speed and sadly has decided to put the car up for sale and asked me to handle it for him. After taking a look at the quality of this car I quickly agreed. This is one of those cars that you could not build for close to the price you can buy it for. It is absolutely gorgeous and is a blast to drive. It is truly Show Quality but can also be driven and enjoyed. I will do my best to provide you with enough large images, a video of the car starting up and running and an honest description to help you decide if this '67 Convertible is the one for you. As with all of my classics I do have this car listed on my website and several others. Therefore, if you want to scoop this sweet ride up before the next car guy or gal does feel free to give me a call to discuss how we can make that happen. I am also a transport broker and can assist the new owner with a great price on Enclosed Transport anywhere in the country. I also welcome overseas buyers and can assist in getting the car to the port of your choice. Sit back and enjoy!!!
For those of you not familiar with the term "Resto Mod" it simply means a car that was restored and modified. This '67 Mustang is exactly that. Restored to a very high level with some slight cosmetic modifications and plenty of mechanical and comfort upgrades to produce a truly outstanding Classic Mustang Convertible that still retains most of its natural beauty while taking it a up a notch in several areas.
The paint and body on this Pony Convertible are truly stunning and near flawless! I have no hesitation to call the paint and body show quality which is a term I do not use often as everyone has their own interpretation. With that said, it is not a trailer queen as it was built to be driven and enjoyed!! With under 2000 miles since the completion it still looks like a new restoration. This was essentially a nut and bolt restoration and the body panels are close to laser straight with excellent body panel fit from front to rear. As you look at the body the only real modification that might catch your eye are the door handles that were custom molded to be flush with the body and function beautifully. The gentleman who had it build decided to keep it completely de-badged so the body does not wear any Mustang or Pony Emblems giving the body a sleek look from front to back. The color is Diamond Grpahite Gray Metallic which to me looks very similar to the color you see on many of the Eleanor Fastback builds. It suits the car beautifully!! Front fog lights were added. Headlights are high end Halogen lights. Taillights are the sequential tail lights and the tail panel has the ribbed taillight inserts with a GT style Gas cap. Front grille is custom and a front spoiler was added. Just some very subtle touches along the body to let people know this is not just some ordinary Mustang Convertible. Glass is all tinted and all of the other chrome trim and bumpers look like new. I could go on and on but I think the pictures that follow will show you just how nice the paint and body is. Enjoy the photo tour:

Of course I hope the next lucky owner will enjoy this beautiful machine with the top down as often as possible but it is nice to know that it also was treated to a high end, power Haartz Cloth Convertible top with glass rear window at the time of the restoration as well. The car looks pretty awesome with the top up too and there is a boot cover for a nice finished look when you enjoy it with the top down. Here are some pics of it with the top up:
Complimenting the beautifully restored custom Graphite Gray Metallic body is an equally impressive upgraded and custom black leather interior. A set of newer, high back Mustang seats were custom covered in Black leather and provide way more comfort and support then the stock original seats do. The drivers seat is power and 3 point shoulder seat belts were installed for driver and passenger. The original rear seat was done in similar custom pattern to match as well as the door panels. Running between the bucket seats is a beautiful custom console providing storage, drink holders and housing the awesome Tremec 5-speed Hurst shifter. Much expense was gone to adding power windows with control switches built in to the center console beautifully. The power windows work smoothly and seal up nicely to the convertible top when in use. They also added Power door locks which are controlled from the key fobs. Of course all new carpeting and a nice set of Pony floor mats finish out the interior. Moving to the dash area you will notice an Idid-it Tilt column painted to match the car with a very nice woodgrain steering wheel. Gauges in the dash were upgraded to white faced gauges that are easier to read and provide more info to the driver then the stock gauges did. Odometer reading is currently just over 1940 miles since the build. All newwiring from American Auto Wiring. A few other custom touches in the factory switches and the addition of a Custom Auto Sound stereo system tucked neatly in the dash. Courtesy lights in the doors all work and really cool Blue courtesy lights mounted in the door sills are an awesome custom touch. Intermittent wipers. The interior is like new and is also totally show worthy. Check it out:

Pop the hood on this custom Resto Mod Classic Mustang and the fun continues!!! A professionally built 302 V8 pushing out an estimated 345-375 horsepower awaits you. This was a completely brand new built motor with lots of goodies. It was built to offer plenty of power for some stop light to stop light fun but also be a motor that would allow the driver to cruise and enjoy on long distance trips when/if desired. I am attaching a picture with a long list of components used in the engine build for those who like to know the details. It is definitely not a stock 302 build as you will see and was bored .030-.040 over with a roller cam, hydraulic roller lifters, Aluminum heads and intake, Quick Fuel Carburetor and the list goes on and on so check it out. This 302 breathes out a set of ceramic coated headers and back through the custom dual exhaust with just the right tone as you can hear in the video that follows. The Tremec T-5 5-speed manual transmission is the perfect match providing some serious fun as you go through the gears and if you are cruising on the highway, drop it in to 5th and cruise at 75-80mph while only turning about 2000-2200 rpm and getting some decent fuel mileage. She stops on a dime thanks to the Power 4 wheel slotted and cross drilled disc brake set up. Power steering has this car handling with ease and of course all the suspension components were brand new at the time of build. The car is lowered slightly and sits on a beautiful set of 17" American Racing Gray Spoke wheels wrapped in like new Sumitomo rubber 275/40/17 in back and 245/45/17 up front. Under the hood is a work of art with Billett custom hardware all over including custom hood hinges, shock tower supports and much more. Champion Aluminum radiator with electric fan to keep it running cool. Roush Billet finned valve covers and polished Billet Air cleaner. I am sure I am leaving some details out but you get the picture! Check it out:
This '67 Convertible is just as clean underneath as it is up top with rock solid floorpans and torque boxes. New fuel tank, nicely detailed Ford 8" Rear end, custom exhaust etc..Front sway bar for added stability and handling and Cobra style oil cooler. Inside of the trunk was custom done with custom fit carpet trimmed panels for a clean look and a custom car cover is included. I have a huge folder full of receipts showing much of the work that was done over the course of the build as well as a Marti Report showing how this Convertible was born when it was first delivered to the California sales district as a 289 V8 Automatic Convertible. This car has obviously come a long way since then and is now a truly jaw-dropping beauty a custom that is sure to make the new owner smile from ear to ear...maybe you???!!!
Make sure you take a few minutes to watch and listen to the video that follows to hear this sweet ride start up and running!!!
