Car description |
---|
Offered is an all original 1930 Ford Coupe that was partially disassembled and stored away many years ago. The Body is the high point of this offering (the floors, deck lid, and cowl, quarter, & door bottoms are all original and very solid). It would save a restoreror hot rodder a lot of time and money normallyspent on patch panels and installing and finishing them.
An early brush repaint covers the original blue body and "Don's Atlantic" lettering. How the lettering and 1958 licence plates figure into the history I can only speculate. I do know the 2 owners before me were both from Central Pennsylvania and the story was the coupe was owned and stored for many years by the old guy who partially disassembled it. Around 2006 it was sold to settle the his estate. Ibought it from that purchaser around 2006 and have continued storing it in an out building ever since. I have a NYS registrationin my name which NY uses to title and transfer ownership of vehicles older than 1973.
The pictures are a big part of the description. They show the condition and missing parts so you can judge for yourself. The few weak points that I see on the body that will need metal patching or just welding are marked in red on picture 6 and 16. They are two small areas in the trunk floorand one on the right rear fender. The balance of the pictures also show the condition and inventory of the loose parts and all that is included. I recentlyinstalled the steering column and wheel so they are no longer in the loose part pictures.
The body and seat wood is original and in in good condition with the exception of the windshield header which is a newer reproduction. It is not installed. The seat frame is in good condition. The springs are "so so". The radiator looks like it should be good but it is untested. The windshield frame and all glass except for the driver's door is clear and crack free but unmarked. The original engine, driver's door glass, dash rail, and instrument panel are missing and not included. The drivers window regulator needs repair. The fenders, bumpers, and some of the mechanicalparts were quickly installed by the guy I bought the coupe from. They were temporarilyfastened for transporting.
The chassis rolls and steers easily but the brakes are not hooked up. The tires are old but hold airreliably and are suited for trailer transporting.
I've hesitated selling this car but don't think I'll be getting to it. As nice as it is it will still require a lot of work. If you have questions or need pictures of other areas send me a message. Please be serious in bidding. A $500 down payment is required to be paid by pay pal within 24 hours of the auction end. The balance is due within 7 days.
