Hello Everyone! For sale is a very special 1966 Ford F100 Custom Cab.I personally own three F100's and this is the best example of this vehicle restored to its original original state I've seen. To answer your immediate question, YES YOU CAN DAILY DRIVE THIS. Here is all the information on this truck. Ive also reached out to two of the previous owners to get as much information as I can. If you have any extra questions please feel free to message me and ask.
History:Restored about 5 years ago- Motor and Transmission restored at the same time.1966 Ford F-100 Custom CabArcadian Blue and Wimbledon White57,XXX Miles3 Owners352 Ford V-8Clear Title
Motor:Ford 352 FE Motor - Rebuilt 5 years ago with Original Owner Runs PERFECT. Please see video for cold start, warm start, start and stop and highway driving. Just got back from a 600 Mile road trip to visit Buffalo NY and Niagara Falls. This truck made the trip without one hiccup. The motor pulls hard, has a great exhaust sound and idles with no misfires. Motor stays cool and does not overheat.
Transmission:This is a three speed manual transmission on the column. Its a very easy truck to drive and the gears shift as they should. Clutch is solid and consistent. Ive had some f100's with 6 cylinder motors and the same three speed that rev quite high at 55 or 60 mph. This motor is completely comfortable going down the highway at 60-65 mph. (I wouldnt go faster than that with drum brakes and to treat this truck gently)
Brakes:Brakes are the original drum brakes. They work as well as drum brakes can work which out in the country side is great but if you were to be city driving this I would suggest adding a brake booster. Ive done it to many of my old trucks and for these f100's its a very easy process. Would probably take about 2-3 hours for an average DIY'er. If you're interested I can show you which booster I got and give you some pointers.
Body:The body is straight as an arrow. There are no dents anywhere on this truck. The paint is in amazing condition, shines and there are no faded areas. The drip rails are rust free and there is a photo of them in the description. The floors are solid with no signs of rust under the carpet. The doors could use some adjustment to close with one finger. The few very small imperfections have been pointed out in the photos. Please check them out and let me know if you have any questions. The tool box on the side works fantastic and is a great addition. I keep extra tools/ coolant/ straps/ first aid kid inside.Interior:The Interior is very clean as you can see in the photos. Everything inside works from the gauges to the wipers. The windows all open easily and the vent windows work as they should. The fan/ defrost/ heater all works although Ive never taken the truck out in the snow or any condition that requires it. The bench seat is original and in very good condition except for a tear on the top of the driver side (photo'd). I duct taped it just so it wouldnt get worse. The tear is smaller than the duct tape I used. I have included an original replacement patch for the top part of the bench seat if you chose to repair it. There is a CD player with two speakers installed under the seat so it doesn't ruin any of the original styling of the interior. It has a USB input to play spotify/ iPod.
Extras:White wall tires look great and have a lot of tread. They are from 2011 and haven't seen many miles but are getting up there in age. Once you hit about 70 mph the passenger side front tire starts to hum. With original brakes I wouldn't drive this truck that fast anyways but in the spirit of transparency I wanted to point it out. Fuel tank is clean and sending unit/ fuel gauge is very accurate. Empty is Empty and Full is Full. Everything on this truck works. This truck will continue to raise in value if it's well cared for and deserves a good home. Please message me with any questions. This truck is being sold locally so I reserve the right to end this auction early. The truck is also 50+ years old so its being sold as-is. You are welcome to come and see the truck, its located in Upstate NY. I have a few transport companies ive used before to ship the trucks ive purchased. Check estimates with "Uship". I can drive this truck to a major town close by to facilitate transporter pickup as we do live in a very rural part of NY.
