Car description

It's hard not to take notice of a 1969 Ford Mustang GT convertible, especially when it's in a great color for its period and has a lively 351W V8 under the hood. But what turns this desire into action is when you look a little deeper and see that it's been wonderfully restored and has a 4-speed that beckons any driver to go bend this beauty into the corners. This design is arguably the pinnacle of the first-generation... Mustang. You can see the lines that made us all fall in love with the original pony car, and 1969 is when the long hood and short deck look was maximized. But the reason why you're attracted to this ragtop in particular is because it combines some of the best GT performance design cues from the era. The color-matched hood scoop replete with "351" badges, the hood pins, billet grille, GT gas cap, and GT decal stripe package add some nice distinction. The factory-correct and seldom-seen Indian Fire red provides the perfect backdrop to really bring out the new aggressive custom touches on this coupe, and it looks amazing when contrasted up against the new, shiny chrome bumpers and brightwork. This Mustang has been enjoyed since it was restored, so there are a few minor flaws here and there in the finish, but they can't really be spotted without careful observation, and this GT looks absolutely amazing bombing down the road. Overall, this is a dialed-in, rare Mustang drop top. Ford really excelled with their interiors during this era (especially in Mustangs), combining a racy feel with grand touring comfort in a way that has defied the decades. It's a feeling that's amplified even further by the right upgrades. Handsome high-back vinyl bucket seats not only look cool, but they also are firm and supportive for long drives. A factory center console that houses the 4-speed manual furthers this comfortable attitude with an armrest and seat-belt holders. The dark interior has some nice off-set touches like the 3-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel, the GT gear knob, and the bright handles and Pony badges on the door panels. The dual cowl dashboard combined with the deeply sloped center section gives the driver a real sporting feel, and gauges inside are bright and crisp. An older Mustang AM/FM/Cassette player is in the factory slot but needs to be replaced if you want to enjoy open-air tunes, and that power top operates easily with a flick of a switch. So yes, this is the ultimate sunny day cruiser, with the pedigree to flex its GT muscles at any Mustang show. A freshly-detailed 351 cubic inch V8 is based on a Windsor block, which was how this car originally left the factory. It's been upgraded with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake, but they remain hidden under the black, finned Ford open-element air cleaner to help it blend in. In fact, the whole engine was bathed in Ford Blue, aside from the black, finned valve covers, so it looks super-clean and ready for battle. A great-sounding dual exhaust system offers the proper Mustang soundtrack and the entire undercarriage was dusted with satin paint for a very clean look. The 4-speed manual transmission feeds a 9-inch rear with 3.25 gears inside, so it remains a great highway car that doesn't get tiresome on long highway trips. Vintage Magnum 500 wheels with BFGoodrich T/A white-letter radials finish the look. Complete with a Marti Report, this beautifully restored 1969 Mustang GT is a pedigreed classic we're proud to feature. With as good as this car looks, and how great it drives, there's no way this car stays with us long. Call today!!!
