1966 Ford Mustang
Same owner for over 40 years!
One of the most iconic cars in post war American auto history design was the 1964 ½ Mustang. By 1966 it was already a fabulous design and became very muscular looking with its update. That is exactly the car that is in this eBay listing. This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible is a 289 c.i. with 2 barrel carburetors. Automatic transmission. Of course, bucket seats but it also has a console and the upgraded factory Rally pack with clock, RPM tachometer; the tachometer is working but the clock works intermittently. The car also has the upgraded factory wooden steering wheel. In 1988, the car was repainted in the original Springtime Yellow color. To top all this off the car comes with power steering and power brakes and power top. There does not appear to be anything missing. The interior appears to be the original interior to the car however the carpeting was replaced in 1986 and looks very presentable. The mileage shows just under 76,000 miles on the odometer and is believed to be original but no paper to substantiate.
The convertible top is white and it is a heavy-duty top and of course the top is electric and goes up and down as it should.
The chrome is very presentable but there are a few flaws and just very minor pitting in some areas. The only concern of rust would be a rust hole in the bottom of the driver's door, the passenger's door is just fine.
Finding a 1966 Mustang in almost everybody's favorite color of Springtime Yellow with the options of the wood steering wheel, Rally pack upgrade, power steering and power brakes makes this a very desirable car.
It is interesting to note that over 50 years later, the 2019 Mustang still carries most of the design cues of the very first and early Mustangs. The early Mustangs are probably the most fun to drive and have great handling and plenty of pep for acceleration and highway driving and cruising at highway speeds. This is a car that you can bid to win and be happy that it is in your garage.
