Car description |

Vintage 1974 Ford Maverick in excellent, original condition; a V-8 equipped, 4-door sedan with 48,445 original miles. This survivor was purchased from the original owner 3 years ago. Since then, vehicle received new tires, total tune-up (including spark plug wires and carburetor rebuild), new Monroe front shocks, new Monroe rear air shocks, new fuel gauge sending unit in tank (see photo--not leaks, just dribble from component change), oil/filter change and professional polish/wax.
A custom trailer hitch was also installed to effortlessly tow a 1000-pound 1974 vintage fiberglass trailer last year for a few hundred miles (trailer shown in photo--not included--but will be selling later for around $5500). Left hitch bolted on in case someone can use it. No permanent modifications to car or wiring will remain if hitch is unbolted (4-contact plug in trunk).
Condition is excellent. Everything works--all gauges (including fuel now), AM radio, lights and mechanical functions operate as new. Hood and front fenders were repainted before I got the car, and no underlying damage exists. New paint was base/clear type and matches remarkably well with other original paint. As shown in photo, original roof paint is thin, but only in those isolated areas.
Interior looks virtually new--seat fabric and vinyl is flawless, and carpet appears as new (but is original). Top of dash has some sunburn darkening as shown in photo, but is not cracked. No cracks in steering wheel or any door panels. Trunk is spotless and holds spare plus extra wheel/tire.
The photos speak for themselves--there cannot be a much better 45-year-old vehicle condition-wise. The valuable "steer-horn" gas cap is like new (replaced with locking cap when parked in public) and the original owner's manual is completely intact.
Has original 302 V-8, non-power disc brakes, power steering, automatic transmission and working air conditioning! Starts, runs and drives outstanding and leaves no fluid spots in driveway.
