I am technically the 3rd but really the 2nd family owner of this beauty
My friends mom, bought this Mustang brand new in 1965, she "willed" it to my friend who ended up selling it to me in 2009/10.
When Bill (my friend) took over the car, it was already sitting in storage out in Riverside, CA. His mom had passed, but after his dad passed, he decided to restore her. Not knowing to keep it pure, here is what he did.
*Re-paint with a hint more yellow*Replaced the GT wheels with current wheels :(*Replaced original steering wheel with current steering wheel :(*Shaved the car###Removed Rally lights from the grill###Removed the 289 badging (GT badging is still there)*Added a CD player (placement in trunk)*Added a cassette player*Added a retractable antenna*Original 289 was rebuilt
When we acquired it, we didn't really like the ALL YELOW MUSTANG. So I did some research. Turned out that Carrol Shelby and is Terlingua, TEXAS race team, ran this exact same color scheme back in the day. I took a screenshot of the car I found and took it to a Wrap Shop, where they added the stripes, numbers and wrapped the hood, all in 3M
What happened next was..... BAM!!!!! the car stuck out, and thumbs ups have been coming our way ever since.
My family and I have enjoyed this car for 10 years and we love it. It is one of our favorites in our collection, as it seats more than 2 people :) However, times change, priorities change and its time to part ways.
I consider this a RESTO-MOD and it is priced accordingly to what I have researched out on the crazy web
