Car description

A super-slick exterior, comfy custom interior, full suspension upgrades, and huge V8 power make this 1950 Ford Business Coupe Pro Street one mean and green custom build. Ford had one of the best three-box designs with the sleek business coupe, and it was one of the rarest styles for 1950. So that makes for the perfect place to start this full custom build. With the amount of metallic shine radiating from the Synergy Green the whole car... turns into one large emerald beacon the moment the sunlight hits it. Rivaling this paint for all-out brightness is the restored chrome trim package that includes the wraparound bumpers, full window trim, exposed trunk latches, and full-length side trim. And of course, there's no missing the iconic bullet nose with an "8" just so everyone knew back then that you were piloting the big motor â€" today that holds even truer (more on that in a moment.) You'll love pouring over all the classic details, like the blue-dot headlights and taillights. They meet modern performance upgrades like the power bulge hood and Boyd Coddington Junk Yard Dog wheels. The appeal of the custom interior is as clear as black and white... literally. The door panels, low-back bucket seats, and contoured center console have a terrific two-tone striped appearance. The cool purple glow from the custom lighting is a masterful touch of color. This has all the right upgrades, including a Lokar shifter, cup holders, custom chrome steering wheel on a chrome tilt column, upgraded full gauge panel, and an AM/FM radio with iPod hookup. Plus, as a true business coupe, this just has a parcel shelf in the rear. But even that's been upgraded with a cool flame-kissed panel that now houses the full speaker package w/subwoofer. The big trunk contains a fuel cell and a nice indicator of what's powering this pro street machine. When you open the hood, the slick green fender walls and firewall funnel all your attention to that monster motor. It's a 396 cubic-inch big block that has an award-worthy tidiness and looks built for combat. The big V8 got bigger as it was bored out to 408 ci total, and it has been fortified and enhanced with features like Pro Comp aluminum heads, welded alloy valve covers, a wicked cam, Edelbrock Dominator intake, and a large 750 CFM Summit Racing four-barrel carburetor. The long tube headers feed a thunderous dual exhaust, or you can just open the electric cutouts for the ultimate intimidation experience. Making sure that all this power gets to the ground properly is a stout TH350 three-speed automatic with a 3,500 RPM stall for the optimal powerband. And the stout Ford 9-inch rear has a Detroit locker, 35 spline axles, and 4.10 ratio. That combines with the wide Mickey Thompson rear rubber for terrific power takeoffs. The suspension has been fully upgraded to take advantage of all this muscle. The front now has a Mustang II-style independent setup. In the rear is an S&W Racing four-link with adjustable coilovers. Four-wheel disc brakes mean you can keep firm control of this green monster. Complete with restoration photos, this was a personal project by a custom car shop owner. He took nine years to complete this full setup, and so you know this is a top-quality build. Labors of love like this rarely leave their creator's hands, so don't miss this rare opportunity.
