VIN# 2Y89Z157108 Listed on behalf of Monte Shelton
Located in PORTLAND, OREGON.
This Thunderbird Sport Roadster was produced April 12, 1962 at the Wixon, Michigan plant and delivered to the Seattle District Distributor. A total of just 1,427 factory Sport Roadsters were produced for the 1962 model year. This car has remained in the Pacific Northwest its entire life.
About 15 years ago, this low-mileage original car was acquired by a prominent Oregon collector who performed a full concours-level restoration. The quality shows today, as seen in the photos. Gorgeous, correct "Rangoon Red" paint with white top and restored Pearl (tan) leather interior. Body is straight and rust-free. All chrome re-plated and trim polished. Restored roadster tonneau cover. Excellent glass. Power windows and top mechanism works perfectly. (See video.) Working heater, defroster and factory AM radio. Rides on correct chromed Kelsey-Hayes true wire wheels with correct bias-ply tires.
The original Thunderbird 390 cubic inch, 340 HP 4-barrel V8 was completely and correctly rebuilt. Runs smooth, strong and quiet. Excellent power and acceleration. Rebuilt "Cruise-o-Matic" automatic transmission shifts as it should. 3.00:1 rear-end. The engine bay is beautifully and correctly detailed. I have personally driven this car and it runs and drives without fault. Please see photos and video of engine running.
Overall this is a stunning Thunderbird Sport Roadster ready to show or go. It has seen limited use since restoration (less than 500 miles), today showing just over 78,700 total miles on the odometer.
A realistic reserve has been placed on this car in keeping with its quality and rarity. It could not be restored to day to this level for the reserve price. Please bid accordingly.
WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BIDDERS WORLDWIDE AND CAN ASSIST WITH SHIPPING ANYWHERE.
