Car description

You are bidding on a once in a lifetime find!! This is an original 1967 S-Code Big Block Ford Mustang Convertible. No expense was spared in this complete rotisserie restoration and ground-up build as a "Shelby GT 500". This beautiful Big Block Mustang convertible was completely disassembled and media blasted throughout. There is absolutely ZERO rust anywhere on this car.

This super straight convertible was then painstakingly re-assembled using all new Shelby Fiberglass to include hood, nose cone, front valance panel, grill work, head lamps, fog lamps, rear tail lamp panel, rear deck lid and spoiler. Fenders and doors were re-installed, aligned and gap checked. From there, it went to the paint shop where it receiveda complete interior paint job. Multiple coats of Viper Blue base coat/clear coat were sprayed on the exterior and then finished with correct Shelby "LeMans" racing stripesfollowed by additional clear coats.

Upon return from the paint shop, the restoration resumed in earnest. The interior features include: Dynamat underlayment on the pristine floor pans, new molded carpet, new deluxe lighted door panels, new deluxe dash pads and "A" pillar trim, all new weather-strip and related rubber parts throughout the car. Deluxe bucket seats are fitted with new "comfort weave" upholstery on new seat buns, and a new black convertible top was installed; raised and lowered by all new hydraulics.

This S-Code beauty features the ultra rare Convenience Control Panel, a full console withpower window switches hidden behind the "Garage Door". The dash panel features a custom Pro Comp Ultra-Lite Auto Meter Gauge Pack. Steering duties are handled courtesy of a custom "Ididit" tilt steering column topped with a hand rubbed walnut Corso FeroceShelby GT 500 Steering Wheel.

Directing your attention to the underside of the car; among the suspension highlights are Total Control Parts (TCP) coil-over independent front suspension and a TCP Power Rack and Pinion Steering Assembly. The latter installation was featured in Mustang Monthly Magazine. This car features factory power disc brakes with slotted and drilled performance rotors. Heavy duty shocks were fitted front and rear.

A completely overhauled and detailed Ford 9" 28 Spline rear axle with 3.00 gears was fitted to handle the final drive duties. We then fitted 17X8'" "Shelby 10 Spoke" rims wrapped in Nitto 234/45/17 tires to thefront and 245/45/17s to the rear axle. Sub frame connectors were also installed to enhance the rigidity of the unibody structure. With our new "GT500" now resting on four wheels, our attention was then focused on the power plant.

This remarkable car is fitted with a professionally builtFord 390 V-8 4-V High Performance short block that features a balanced and blueprinted heavy-duty rotating assembly that includes heavy duty rods, pistons, oil pump, timing set and a Comp Cams performance cam and lifter kit. (I have all receipts) We then bolted on a set of Edelbrock Performer RPM Aluminum cylinder heads with roller rockers. Next we bolted on an Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake Manifold to handle the incoming fuel and air sentvia a Demon 750 cfm Performance 4 BBL carburetor. The heads are topped off with Shelby LeMans high rise aluminum valve covers. Exhaust gasses are channeled through a set of custom built FPA Headers fed into dual 3" exhaust pipes leading through dual Flowmasters, finally exiting below the rear valance panel.

The engine is fitted with a correct Shelby Spec oil cooler and features steel braided lines on all oiling, power steering and fuel connections. Mated to our high performance big block is a professionally built C-6 Automatic Transmission including performance shift kit which connects to the aforementioned 9" rear axle to put the power to the pavement.

This is but an overview of a complete "new" ground up build with an emphasis on detail. I have many receipts and photos of the build process; a small sampling of which is posted here. My documentation includes a deluxe Marti Report and the aforementioned magazine. The car has been driven less than 3,000 miles since the completion of the build.

I have made every effort to honestly and accurately describe this car and its condition. Although this is a very high quality build and is in many ways a "new" car, it is sold strictly on an "AS-IS" basis with absolutely no warranty either expressed or implied. I encourage you to ask any questions prior to bidding. I can provide additional pictures upon request. I also am willing to make a reasonable effort to makethe car available for inspection by a third party inspector.

The winning bidder will be required to post a $1,000 deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction. The remaining sum is due via wire transfer or certified check within 5 days. This car has a clear title is located in Las Vegas/Henderson Nevada. It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange shipping, but I will coordinate with the shipper of your choice.
