Listed on behalf of the owner.
Located in PORTLAND, OREGON.
This 1925 TT Stakebed was purchased in original condition over 40 years ago by the father of the current owner. It was in good operating condition when stored in the dry barn approximately 30 years ago. Following the father's passing, the truck was recently removed from the barn and mechanically refreshed by the Model A Ford Works in Portland - a dedicated shop that specializes only in early Fords.
The following items were addressed:
• New gas tank.
• Carburetor rebuilt.
• Coils serviced.
• Generator serviced.
• Starter serviced.
• Amp meter replaced.
• Radiator cleaned. New hoses and clamps.
• Full engine tune-up.
• Front-end service including: New king pins, bushings, shackles. Replaced front wishbone. Springs lubed. New tie rod bolts.
• Rear-end service including: Replaced bearings and felt seals. Lubricated and serviced. Brakes adjusted.
• Adjusted transmission bands.
• New rear tires.
Following service, the truck starts easily, runs smoothly and drives well.
This truck also has a period accessory JUMBO GIANT transmission which gives you 3-speed shifting, with reverse gear plus over and under-drive. This was likely installed in the 1920's/30's. This allows you to drive it without the planetary system, so it operates like a more modern standard 3-speed transmission. The original planetary system is in-place and operates as original.
Starts with crank or electric starter. Bright electric headlights.
Body is original Henry Ford steel with what appears to be original paint throughout. Solid frame. No rust-out. Front seat appears to have been reupholstered in vinyl long ago. Seat is in very good condition with no rips or tears. Front carpet was also added years ago. The bed floor is solid as are the stake sides. 124" wheelbase. Note this truck has no speedometer or odometer so actual mileage is unknown.
PLEASE SEE PHOTOS AND VIDEO OF THE TRUCK STARTING, RUNNING AND DRIVING.
This truck is truly a time capsule. Enjoy it as-is, or upgrade/restore and bring it to show level. The choice is yours. Like all old cars and trucks, this will likely need additional fine tuning if regular use is anticipated. If it were us, we would leave the body in the original condition seen here, which is testament to its nearly 100 years on the road.
Certainly, there are few others out there today like this one.
WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BIDDERS WORLDWIDE AND CAN ASSIST WITH SHIPPING ANYWHERE.
