The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang's styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition.MechanicalWhat we have here is a 1969 Mustang Fastback Mach 1. The car was originally a 351 4V V8 with an FMX automatic transmission and a 9" rear end. The original engine and transmission are long gone. Currently the car has a 1989 fuel injected 302 and 5-speed manual from a Foxbody Mustang. The engine has GT40 heads and intake which run great. The transmission has a short throw shifter and shifts nicely through all gears. The engine is wired with the Painless EFI Wiring Assembly. The car has power brakes and power steering. The car is cooled by an aluminum radiator and has flow master dual exhaust. The battery and fuel cell are both located in the trunk. The car is now fitted with Helix Tubular front suspension with rack and pinion steering. The narrowed 9" rear end is connected with Art Morrison ladder bars w/ coil over shocks. The rear end is limited slip with mid 3:00's gear ratio. Disk brakes up front with drums in the back. Exterior The exterior is in great shape and looks beautiful. This a head turner anywhere you go.Prior to owning the car, it was tubbed, caged and the shock towers were removed. The hood is a bolt-on fiberglass 2" cowl induction, it latches just like the originals (No pins) but has a prop rod to keep it open. The front and rear rims are Center Line 15" rims. The rear tire dimensions are 31x18.50R15LT that are sold by Hoosier. The tires are in great shape. The is a beautiful car that has won at many shows. The paint is great driver quality and is not a cheap job. The under carriage is solid, clean and dry. All body panels are straight and all glass is intact. Since the restoration, the car has never been to the race track. The car has a clear Texas Title and is street legal InteriorThe car was put back together with the deluxe interior except for the seats. It has Bamz Racing front seats with 5 point harnesses. Within the last year and a half, the car has new wiring from American Autowire and Dakota Digital Gauges installed.
