You are bidding on a 1978 4X4 Ford F-150 Cab and Chassis. The truck had a wooden flatbed. but it rotted and was removed in September 2014. I have all the mounting hardware to replace it. just do not have the time. The vehicle is theoretically in good running condition. I have never driven it on public roads. because it is not fit for inspection due to the damaged floorboards. however. I drove it on the private road on which I live. and it did just fine in 1st and second gear. the road is not long enough to get it into third gear. it handled well. I recently (between now and September) replaced all the brake lines. the fuel line. the return line from radiator to tranny. and the distributor cap and rotor. the truck is funny about starting cold. I'm told its a problem with the choke on the carburetor. however. carburetor repair is not uncommon on vehicles of this age. but after it warms up. there are no problems. engine and transmission operate properly. the truck is not perfect. but it is ready to work. if that's what you plan on. or its in prime shape for restoration. it is all original save for the missing bed and bumper and the heavy duty rear bumper that was welded on for flatbed purposes (not counting the brake and fuel lines). odometer reads 89. 14. however. it appears to have been replaced as the glass in front of it is in better condition than the gauges. title says 8x. xx *NOT ACTUAL*. so I'm not sure of the exact mileage. however. based on the condition of the engine compartment. I would say its not as high as the 189. 14 it implies. that being said. I am not the original owner. and CANNOT vouch for the actual mileage. there appears to be a part missing from one of the lines between motor and radiator. presumably a thermostat? it has been missing since I've owned the truck. and as I've said. it ran without it. however. before any long excursions. I would suggest installing or replacing it.
