You are looking at a 1968.5 Ford Mustang Fastback R code 428 Cobra Jet. These cars are very unique. This was the first time Ford put a 428 Cobra Jet in a mustang. They began production in April of 1968, therefore proclaiming them as the 68.5 Cobra Jet Mustangs. Only 1,044 Fastback R Code mustangs were produced.

This particular R code left the factory as a Wimbledon White with black interior 428 Cobra Jet GT, 4 speed, with the rare optional 4.30 traction lock 31 spline rear gear.

This car is a numbers matching car featuring its original engine, original 4 speed toploader, and original rearend. And yes, the original AA Holley carburetor comes with the engine and it has already been rebuilt.

But here's the kicker, you will be getting two engines, two transmissions, and two Nodular rear third members. That's right.

The car currently has a 406HP block in it, with a 427 crank and rods, edelbrock aluminum heads, and a ford police interceptor aluminum intake, holley carb, and msd ignition.

It also currently has a 5 speed transmission in it, with a Nodular trac lok 4.10 gear.

That is the current drivetrain.

Additionally, you will be getting all of the original drivetrain and it's all the correct VIN stamped matching number parts.

All of this includes, the 428 CJ block already machined, the cobra jet heads already done, the very rare Holley C8of-9510-AA 4 speed car, the original exhaust manifolds, intake, rods, pistons, crank freshly turned .10, .10, timing cover, water pump etc. Also the VIN stamped RUG-AE 4 speed toploader, and the original rebuilt NON-N Case nodular dated 7M21.

This car was a very early build car, built April 26th, 1968. The interior is black standard with a folddown rear as it came from the factory.

Current Drivetrain:

406 Stroker

Edelbrock Aluminum Heads

Ford Aluminum PI Intake

Holley Carb

Original CJ Exhaust Manifolds

Original CJ 8A dated bellhousing

T5 5 speed transmission

Original 9" rear 31 spline with Nodular 4.10 third member N Marking

Original Drivetrain that comes with the car: ( Look at the picture link to see pictures of all the original parts)

428 Cobra Jet Block Dated 8C4 C7ME-A Casting

Machine work done, ready to build

Original Heads C8OE-6090-N Dates 8C14 and 8C27

Original Intake C80E-9425-C Dated 8D6

Original Timing Cover C8AE

Original water Pump C8AE Dated 8D8 Rebuilt

Original Toploader 4 Speed with Shifter RUG-AE VIN Stamped

Original NON-N Case Nodular Rearend Dated 7M21 Rebuilt with 3.89 gear

Original 4.30 Ford ring and pinion comes with it

So as you can see not only are you getting all the original drivetrain, but an extremely nice drivetrain that's currently in the car. There is lot of value there.

The car has its original Dash tag, door tag, and VIN stamp on the apron.

8K tach is still in the gauges.

Now about the car. The car fires right up, sounds great, drives great and has won me many trophies. This is a driver quality car that has won me many trophies. This is not a concourse car by any means. The interior is overall very nice. The center console is not original but is nice to have in the car.

The seats are in great shape overall. The driver seat has a small repair on the back. The carpet is nice, dashpad is nice as well. The steering wheel was replaced at some point in the car life but I do have the original somewhere.

The paint on this car is overall very nice, but it does has some touchups and imperfections here and there but still shows great. Shows very well and is shiny, not dry or dirty. The chrome trim is all nice, and the panels line up very well.

The bottom of the car is what you would expect a driver car to be. This car has never been fully restored, so like I said, don't expect a concourse car.

The car has factory power steering and factory power disc brakes.

This car drive great and has a lot of power.

Don't miss a chance to buy a very rare 1968.5 Ford Mustang Fastback.

I will help with shipping anywhere in the world but shipping cost is responsibility of the buyer. The car is sold as is-where is with no refunds or exchanges. The deposit is NON-refundable.

I encourage anyone to come and inspect the car before you buy it. It is up to the buyer. You are not buying the car here for a chance to come and look. Please be serious. The car is almost 50 years old and has many original parts, so do not expect a concourse car.

Payment must be made via Bank Wire (preferred), in person with cash, cashier's check can be sent but must clear the bank first. Full payment has to be made within 3 days of the auction end. Failure to make full payment in 3 days gives me the option to sell the car to another buyer and breaches contract. Deposit is non-refundable.

International buyers are more than welcome to buy the car. I am not responsible for any part of the car that was not disclosed is it's hard to describe every inch of the car. Please look at all of the pictures, come see the car or call for more details! Accepting offers and car is also for sale locally so it could end at any time.
