This truck is a bit of a sleeper. It's the perfect combination of the classic good looks of a '55 Ford pickup, undisturbed by big wheels or wild paint, and mostly hidden updates for your comfort, convenience, and driving pleasure. Check it out. Trucks of this vintage hark back to an earlier time when they were primarily working machines. The fact that the styling was so good looking wasn't the primary reason for their popularity back then,...but it is now. This one is presented in a beautiful shade of Blue. Let's call it Chill Blue. Plenty of preparation went into making sure the body panels lined up nicely and that the curves were all gentle and smooth before a drop of paint hit the surface. Up front a Ford badge graces the nose of the hood and fresh chrome dresses out the grill and headlights with a sharp looking bumper underlining it all. A Ford F-100 badge is on the side of the hood and there are Ford step plates on the running boards. The back looks super clean with just a simple chrome bumper, but drop the tailgate and you will find a beautiful wood bed with polished stainless trim. Open the door and you will find many of those comfort and convenience upgrades that are not obvious from the outside. It starts with a simple Gray door panel but then you notice the two-tone leather bench seat in cream and gray. It is matched by gray carpeting that is protected by black floor mats with a Ford crest on them, and also a full headliner that certainly keeps the noise in the cab down. There is a three-spoke steering wheel with a red Ford center button and a Lokar shifter mounted in the floor. A nice chrome Omega Kustom instrument panel has a speedometer in the center with gauges for the oil pressure, water temp, voltage and fuel off to each side. An AM/FM/Bluetooth and iPod compatible Kenwood head unit pumps the sound out through speakers in the kick panels and an air conditioning system mounted under the dash keeps you cool on those hot summer days. Pop the hood and you will find a tried and true 302 cubic inch V8 setting way down low in a nicely detailed out engine bay. It is topped by a chrome air cleaner which feeds the engine through a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock F4B intake manifold. Chrome Moroso valve covers add their splash of flash to the show as does a chrome alternator and A/C compressor. An Accel Super Stock ignition coil sends the spark out to the plugs through a new cap and wires and there are new belts and hoses throughout. An aluminum radiator keeps things running cool and power steering makes maneuvering in parking lots easy while power front disc brakes allow you to stop this sweet ride in a hurry if you have to. The truck sits on 225/70R15 tires all around which are mounted on steel wheels with polished trim rings and Ford wheel centers. Classic good looks on the outside. Plenty of modern comfort and convenience features on the inside. If you think this is the perfect combination for an old truck, then the only thing that could make it better is if it was parked in your garage. Come on down and check it out.
