Car description

Street rods are so much fun. You get to pick a car that is the right size and the style you like, then build it with modern running gear so you have the air conditioning and stereo you like with the handling and reliability of a modern car. If a 1940 Ford is just your style, then check this one out. You don't need to build it. Just come on down and drive it home. 1940 Fords...are popular vehicles to street rod for many reasons. For one, their sweeping curves and separate fenders look great when they are dropped down close to the ground, coated in shiny Red paint so the lights dance across them as it drives down the street, and set on a sweet set of shiny chrome wheels. Speaking of chrome, its hard to beat the look from the front of the car with the bold band of it running down the center of the hood with a V8 badge right where it joins the stylized grill of vertical bars. It is underlined by a simple chrome bumper and the teardrop headlights perched way out on the front fenders are trimmed in it too. Viewed from the side, a strip of chrome runs end to end, flowing with the curve of the hood up front and turning down to follow the smooth line of the trunk at the rear. Open the door and you will find a great looking custom interior. The door panel sets the theme in two-tone Gray and curved panels that play off the curves of the body. The two-tone seats are super comfortable with a fold down armrest and a silhouette of the car is embroidered into the headrest. A leather wrapped four-spoke Lacarra steering wheel with a polished center sits on a billet, tilting steering column and a Lokar shifter topped with an 8-ball rises from the floor in the center. More polished billet surrounds the Classic Instruments white faced gauges with the speedo and tach directly in front of the driver and engine gauges are off to the right along with some control knobs. Hidden in the glove box is a Sony head unit that is FM/CD/XM and MP3 compatible for your listening pleasure as well as controls for the air conditioning system and a trunk release. Pop the hood and you will find a 350-cubic inch crate motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. A ribbed black air topper sits on a 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold. Ribbed black valve covers look good with a Chevy bowtie embossed on them. A Mallory distributor works with MSD ignition parts to get good reliable spark to the cylinders and the exhaust flows out through dual cherry bomb mufflers that give the car a nice healthy sound. Power flows back through a 700R4 4 speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels mounted on multi-leaf springs. Up front control arms and coil springs work together with power rack and pinion steering and a beefy sway bar to give this car great handling while front disc brakes assure good stopping power. The rubber meets the road through 225/70R15s in the back and 195/60R15s in the front all mounted on those great looking American Racing alloys. Classic 1940s good looks with modern running gear and a comfortable custom interior. Come on down and check it out. Then drive it on home and start enjoying it. Maybe even in time to go Christmas visiting in it.
