Pro Touring - GT 500 - Triple Black 1968 Ford Mustang Convertable 428 CJ - 5sp- AC
Makings of a High end Restored mustang *Needs completing*
Over $90k invested
Excellent opportunity Save major $$
95% of parts are included to complete Approx 70% completed
Thanks for looking, An Amazing, ProTouring GT 500, 1968 Mustang convertible Triple Black, Fresh Built 428 CJ engine -Approx 500 hp thumper cam, 5 sp Tremec Trans, Custom installed the hydraulic clutch. A High-end restoration underway needs completing.
I started this restoration approx 4 years ago, I purchased this car for $45k from Mark Hiat in Louisiana as a restored Mustang. I was not happy with with the restoration so I started over with the intent to build a high end built. I invested an additional approx $40k plus the restoration shop that was doing the work, The restoration was taking way to long to complete, so I pulled the car out. Fast forward, to be honest, I lost interest and do not have the time to deal with it at this moment. I have approx 95 of the parts to complete including new front seats.
What was done to the car-the underside is restored very nicely and has been completed minus the exhaust and driveshaft, the exhaust is new in the box and I have also the drive shaft. The suspension is coil-overs . The engine compartment is pretty much completed with a fresh 428 Cj approx 500 hp- thumper cam with AC and custom-made motor mounts. Brand new custom mounted hydraulic clutch has been installed, the hydraulic clutch was almost $3k alone, new radiator-dual electric fans engine bay was all custom neatly fitted and detailed. Headers needs to be installed with the exhaust, I also have the headers. Complete brand new wire harness was installed. The transmission is Tremic 5sp. The Mustang was painted with Glassurit High-end german paint with multiple layers of clear will need to be wet sanded for a show finish, I bumped the driver door while moving the car, all body work on the door was done, the door just needs repainting.
What needs to be completed is the interior which I have most of the parts and brand new custom low profile seats, the new wiring needs to be connected, Dash, steering linkage needs to reconnect to do the new hydraulic clutch being installed, chrome trims and windows which I have and other miscellaneous pieces around the car.
My opinion this car is an investment, not only going to be a head-turner, a fun, and fast car to drive when the car is completed, it should be worth over $100k, a similar mustang in red sold at RK motors cars for approx $120k. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiast or a restoration shop to finish.
Note: The first 5 pictures are when I first got the car so you can see somewhat what it will look like..
I have a file of photos of the car in current condition.
I encourage someone to come to look at the car prior to purchase.
