With its outstanding stance, powerful drivetrain and assortment of great exterior touches, this 1976 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT is one undeniable all-terrain badass. It's been thoroughly configured to vanquish whatever territory stands in its way and mixes vintage '70s pickup style with a level of capability that takes a backseat to no vehicle, regardless of its era. With an aggressive stance that comes via a top tier aftermarket off-road suspension, thick, beefy tires and distinctive badging on the front fenders proclaiming the big block power sitting under its hood, this is about as capable-looking a classic off-roader as any you'll see. You'll likely get an adrenaline rush just glancing at it, at which time you'll also appreciate the great touches that have been applied over all that brawn for an outstanding, finished look. Its burgundy red metallic shade is an absolute winner - a nice deep color that's showing a strong shine with no major blemishes in sight. There's a great collection of chrome on board here - in addition to the stock front end, there's a pair of great looking diamond-plate steps on its sides, as well as sturdy looking railing along the sides of the bed in back, and the diamond plate rear bumper looks ramrod straight in back. In spite of its elevated stance, those side steps make access relatively easy and the upgraded suspension components in view underneath are truly a sight to behold. The matching burgundy red interior has been left in its original configuration and provides a great vantage point from which to put this ground-pounder through its paces. A comfortable bench seat, featuring a nice combination of vinyl and cloth is at its center, with burgundy red carpeting below that still has plenty of use left. The matching headliner looks to have recently been replaced and clings firmly above, while the dash area has a great '70s style to it, carrying a set of gauges in the cluster that remain easily readable and a nice straight pad above that shows no cracks. There's plenty of audio firepower on hand, as well - in addition to the AM/FM/Cassette sitting in the dash, there's a Sony CD player in the glove box and Alpine amp to power the pair of 10" subwoofers behind the seat. All looks good with the bed area in back - the Ford-branded liner has done its job well, so there's no obvious evidence of mishaps from shifting cargo in sight. To climb in and take hold of that B&M shifter sitting right in front of the bench seat is to feel a definite sense of power. When you combine the power sitting under the hood with its collection of outstanding suspension components, the off-road prowess of this F-150 is far beyond question. The 390 cubic inch V8 sitting in the engine compartment with its 4-barrel carb on top and chrome valve covers on its sides is known for its torque, so it's a great fit for this truck. The powerplant sounds great as it exhales through its Flowmaster exhaust and is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission to efficiently bring that power to the wheels. The original suspension components have given way to a full off-road Trail Master suspension, so when this vintage pickup leaves the asphalt, it's as at home as Aquaman in water and yet, with power steering and power brakes on board, it navigates easily and stops promptly in everyday driving conditions as it conquers roads both paved and unpaved on its set of 15" Weld Racing wheels wrapped with Mickey Thompson tires that are so thick they're bound to stop traffic. Vintage pickup style, excellent exterior finishes and unbeatable all-terrain ability put this 1976 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT in very select automotive company. Call today!
