Car description

*I'm writing this for my Dad... he is selling this beauty due to a recent illness.*This Model A Mail Truck is a very unique vehicle with only about 1,000 of them made between 1929 -1932. (None of which have a natural wood interior like this) He found this truck in Massachusetts about years ago. It had collapsed in on itself, laying on a flat-bed trailer, looking like no more than a pile of rusted parts and rotted wood. With his vision, he happily purchased the pile and brought it home to his workshop in Maine. He loves the challenge of bringing these oldies back to life! He researched and recreated this USPS Mail Truck, building it a new wood body, cutting, fitting and dovetailing it to it's original state in 1929. He chose to keep the interior natural wood to show off the beauty, but the exterior is the Drab Olive, which was the U.S. Postal Service color at that time. The hood and fenders are black and the tires are brand new! It is also holding a 2018 registration and runs great. On the passenger's side panel is an "Uncle Sam" recruiting poster from World War II, which also appears on many of the same trucks at that time. It has the original vacuum windshield wipers on the truck, but they are not hooked up. Also, unfortunately, over the years time has brought on several dings while being in storage, so he recommends repainting the black. (He also said the black was an amateur paint job, in his opinion. Yes, he was the one who painted it!)It has an electric and crank start, less than 50 miles on it, fun to drive and a head-turner! This truck is a rare find and a treasure to any Model A fan. Proud to say it won a plaque in 2017 at the "Hops and Hotrods at Thompson's Point" in Portland, Maine. Please ask any additional questions you may have, he will certainly have an answer for you! Also, know that additional photo's are available upon request with an offer/bid. He has a reserve price of $25,000.00 on this item to protect his investment; the highest bid over $25,000.00 will win this prize of a truck.
