Description
You are bidding on a 1968 Shelby GT500E Eleanor - replica of the famous 'Gone in 60 Seconds' movie star, in RHD.It was born as a genuine 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback...NOT a Coupe or Dynacorn body conversion!
It was purchased back in 2014 and has had a ground up restoration.New American Autowire wiring harness has been installed and wiring in the engine bay is hidden behind the front fenders. It has the correct Pepper Gray Metallic two stage exterior paint with rich black rally 'Super Snake' stripes.
This Eleanor has had a correct right hand conversion and is equipped with power steering. The roar comes from a mildly worked 302, driven through a C4 automatic transmission and with the sweet lumpy growl ending out at the side-exit dual exhaust.
The power is tamed with disc brakes up front and drums at the back hidden behind 18" Eleanor-style wheels which gives it an aggressive stance.
Interior has been freshly redone to standard 1968 styling with the original dials and fold down rear seat. The only custom install is the RetroSound stereo which looks just like the original but is all digital internals with USB and iPod outlets.Out back is a pair of Pioneer 6X9s and a boxed 12" sub and amp sit in the boot..which can be easily removed.
