Car description |
---|
This 1967 Ford Mustang is powered by a 289ci V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and was purchased new by the previous owner. A refurbishment in 2000 included a windows-out repaint, refinished mechanical components, new interior pieces, and electrical work, after which the car was reportedly put into climate-controlled storage until my purchase in August. This Mustang shows 75k miles and comes with a 1967 purchase invoice, factory literature, build sheet, 2001 restoration letter, 2018 appraisal result, and North Carolina title.
The data plate specifies a Nightmist Blue (K) coupe with a standard black interior, and this example is also equipped with rocker panel molding and full wheel covers. The body was stripped and sandblasted prior to paintwork and reassembled with new glass, seals, rubber moldings, and gaskets according to a 2001 letter from Keith's Classic Auto Restoration in Mocksville, North Carolina.
New Uniroyal Tiger Paw white-stripe tires have recently been installed on the stock steel wheels. The 2000 suspension overhaul included new ball joints, bushings, bearings and shocks. Replacement brake wheel cylinders, drums, shoes, and hoses were fitted, and other parts were blasted and painted.
Seats and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl, and Mustang-logo mats cover the loop carpeting in the forward footwells. An under-dash air conditioning system was added in 2000, and was recharged in May 2018. The original radio is included but not installed. The 5-digit odometer shows 75k miles.
The 289 V8 is equipped with a 2-barrel carburetor and mated with a 3-speed C4 automatic transmission. A rebuilt carburetor was installed in May 2018 along with a new fuel pump, tank, lines, and filter. Other filters and fluids were also changed, and the cooling system was flushed. the radiator was replaced in October '18 and the original radiator comes with the car.
No specific reason for selling. This car is perfect and turnkey. Professionally restored. I wanted to experience a vintage car and bought the best available. I now know I prefer modern muscle over classic
