Vinyl Interior SELLER REMARKS This gorgeous 1966 Ford Mustang coupe is proof that you don't need to spend a big pile of money to get a great-looking and driving early pony car. With a powerful 289 and an awesome color scheme. this is a fun and fast summertime cruiser that will serve you well for years to come. We're pretty sure this is a real GT because it has all the right details. although there's no easy way to be sure. Paint and bodywork have been freshened and the unusual dark green paint this car currently wears looks pretty close to Ivy Green. which really makes it stand out. The finish is much better than the original enamel. and there were no colors in the 1966 catalog that popped like this one does in the sunlight. Drive this one down the road and expect to have other motorists stopping you to ask. "What color is that?" It's truly striking. GT equipment adds to the sporty look. including white stripes along the rockers. fog lamps in the grille. and dual trumpet exhaust pipes coming through the rear valence. Fit and finish is quite good. perfect for a car that's going to get driven a lot. and you'll never be ashamed to arrive in this particular pony. Chrome is bright. the stainless has been polished. and all the Mustang badges have been properly replaced following the repaint. This is an upscale Mustang that looks like it should cost thousands more than it does. Inside. a correct Black Crinkle vinyl bucket seat interior shows you why the Mustang was a perennial best-seller. Comfortable. stylish. and nicely finished. it's the perfect complement to the gorgeous exterior. Most certainly a combination of nice original pieces and quality replacements. it gives you a good idea of how well preserved this car was. and how carefully the restorer worked to blend the two seamlessly. The seat covers must be new. simply because they show no signs of age and no splits or tears. and the black carpets look great. The original AM radio is still in place. because this car's priorities were in order. as evidenced by the Hurst T-handle shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission. The trunk is fully restored as well. wearing correct plaid mats. a full-sized spare with cover. and a correct storage bag for the jack. The A-code 289 cubic inch V8 runs great and is ready for action. Edelbrock supplied both the 4-barrel carburetor and matching intake manifold. so throttle response is snappy and you know how the 289 loves to rev. Ford Blue paint. correct hoses and clamps. and a chrome air cleaner work well with the Edelbrock valve covers to suggest this one was built for fun. Long-tube headers feed a recent Flowmaster dual exhaust system. and it's easy to see how well-maintained this GT coupe really is when you glance underneath. The aforementioned 4-speed manual drives an 8-inch rear end. and it offers front disc brakes and a new gas tank out back. Styled steel wheels wear modern 215/70/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials for an awesome yet traditional Mustang look. With great performance. a wonderful V8 engine note. and gorgeous. instantly-recognizable good looks. this '66 GT coupe puts you behind the wheel of a legend for not a lot of cash. Reliable. inexpensive to maintain and a lot of fun to drive. these make great toys that can be used like real cars. Grab a friend or two and hit the road. that's what the Mustang is all about.
