Car description

> Selling my beautiful 1963 Ford Galaxie. It has an Automatic transmission, and has been driven 100,500 miles.

> This is a 4-door sedan with a very particular elegance, a very unique automobile as far as the classic cars that you will see driven around these days. The design of the '63 Galaxie retained a semblance of the rocket-age aesthetic of the 1950s, while it ushered in the sleek minimalism of 1960s modernist design, a beautiful hybrid of two of the most significant eras of American automotive design.

> The body is in almost excellent condition, with all of its original chrome, headlights and taillights, hubcaps, interior and exterior details, knobs, stamped metal, etc, all intact and very well maintained. All of its beautifully designed and forged body sections in their original glory, with no damage whatsoever to the body. There is a single rusted area on the rear bumper, about two inches in diameter. I was told by the previous owner that the car was repainted once, in the 1980's, with the same Ford color that it had originally.

> The interior is preserved as well, and is in near excellent condition. The seats are the original furniture, with very clean and almost mint condition upholstery, except for a couple small places (not more than an inch or so,) where the stitching is slightly compromised. Can't name the many distinct details inside that are emblematic of the era, all preserved and going strong... exquisite, shiny chrome diamond-shaped buttons dot the upholstery in both the front and back seats; the little ceiling light is right out of the futurist space-age decor of the original Star Trek; the small triangular corner glass window swings open to let in the coolest breezes; metal trim and detail inside and out, and Ford Motor Company graphic emblems are everywhere.

> This beautiful and powerful sedan still has its original 352 engine, except for some minor upgrades under the hood, including chrome covers and a new carburetor that the previous owner added. However the original carburetor housing was saved, tucked away in the trunk. The 352 engine is quite powerful, and drives well, but when it initially accelerates, it sputters, as if it's not getting enough fuel, but then after that it takes off. I've also seen some oil beneath it, and I was told that that's related to the fuel issue, or that maybe the fuel pump or carburetor need work/replacing... not sure. Other than that, it's in great condition.
