Car description

Didn't ever plan on selling this truck. I've had it for eight years, put a lot of work into it, and have only put around 20k on it in that time. Perfect combo of the big 4.9L straight six with a 5 speed manual and 4x4 with manual t-case and manual locking hubs. 160k miles and a Clean title in hand. Runs/drives well and the 4x4 is excellent. Short wheel base with a husky diamond plate truck box with matching bed caps. Power options with tow package & brake light wiring. I've replaced many, many parts as I planned on keeping it forever. With a baby now, would prefer a truck with a back seat.

Here is some of what has been done: clutch, flywheel, slave & master cylinders, pressure plate, throw out bearing; fuel pump & filter; full ignition system including the entire distributor (had common pip sensor code) plus cap, rotor, coil, wires, plugs and a timing bump to 11*; full front and rear brake jobs including front discs and new hardware for rear drums. Every U joint I could locate under the chassis has been replaced. Magnaflow xl exhaust (on the quiet side). Alternator, water pump, power steering pump & reservoir, starter, throttle body, and various electronics like the pcm, icm, IAC, full EGR system, tps, starter relay, battery, coolant temp sensor, o2 sensors, etc. Put F250 springs & new shocks on the front and it lifted it more than expected (2.5”), so I added 1" blocks in the rear too. American racing 15" multi hole wheels with 32" BFG tires: two on rear are new old stock with maybe 200 miles on them, front are maybe 50%. Will include a 5th (tire only) as well. Alpine stereo w. Usb, JL components, kenwood 6x9s in boxes behind seats, redone interior with wood grain vinyl trim. More that I can't remember, I'm sure!

What it still needs:

  • PAINT! It looks good and gets lots of compliments, but it needs paint badly. Clear coat peeling in spots, faded hood, roof is almost bare metal at this point.
  • Has factory Ac but needs to be converted. Ran it with an old can of r12 for a year or so but hasn't worked since (compressor clutch has been replaced and still engages).
  • Idles high. Still throws EGR code off and on, despite full egr replacement. Just had a great mechanic check it out and the fuel trims look great; He suggested leaving it as-is. Still idles at 1k warmed up and sometimes raises idle between shifts.
  • Fl truck, but 26 years old and some spots of rust. Front bumper has a spot in the middle under the plate, the cowl beneath the windshield is shot. Small metal trim pieces by the windows, superficial spots on the bed (needs a liner really). Undercarriage has some spots on the frame and driveline. But again, those are superficial and everything is solid.
  • A couple small annoyances: the driver's side power window needs a finger assist. Passenger's side door handle works from the outside, but not the inside. Tailgate handle was sticky too, but just replaced the complete mechanism.

  • She is a classic truck with a great stance and a classic, indestructible drivetrain. Even at this age, it is worth keeping her going as she is a classic! Hoping to find her a new home with someone who appreciates her and will keep her going!
