Car description

Hello and thanks for looking. Up for auction with no reserve is an exceptionally rare 1966 Ford Galaxie 7 Litre convertible in original paint color and interior (Emberglo). As I understand, of the roughly 2,000 7 Litre convertibles built in 1966, less than 200 had this color combination and power options including windows, driver seat and AC.

I listed this car a few weeks ago as the weather in NE Ohio started to turn. I was firm with a reserve price and turned away two offers. I was going to wait until Spring 2019 to list again, but realized I could save $2,400 on the rental fee for my heated storage unit if I sell now. I have lowered the price to reflect this savings I would have from storage. This makes the car a great deal for someone that loves Galaxies and the rarity of this vehicle. If I don't sell I will wait until Spring and list again at my original asking price.)

The body is in beautiful condition overall with all door, trunk and hood gaps aligned with no door sag. Beautiful crisp body lines and NO RUST. I believe the interior is all original with no tears in seats and dashboard has no cracks. (The driver's seat needs a 1.5 inch seam stitched in the upper back rest area.) The wood steering wheel is beautiful with no cracks, and theAM radio has been converted to FM. All 7 Litre badges are intact and are in extremely good condition along with chrome trim, bumpers, and grill.

The engine compartment is very nicely detailed and clean. The previous owner stated that that the engine and suspension was rebuilt stock approximately 11,000 miles ago. (Miles listed on odometer are likely not accurate.) My mechanic checked the engine and suspension and said all components appear to be new and the engine and transmission run strong.Upgrades include a dual reservoir power brake booster, and electronic ignition. New battery. AC compressor has been rebuilt and blows cold. Holley 4 bbl carb rebuilt. New gas tank. Car starts and runs wonderful.

All electrical components work with the exception of the clock. The power window switches have all been replaced and wired with relays for smooth and efficient operation. New power top switch. Power top works well and is in very good condition overall. Glass rear window. Like new tires and magnum 500 rims. (Previous owner installed P235 size tires for appearance. Stock size is roughly P225. Occasional slight rub on top of right front tire when making hard left turns. I would put P225's on the front if I were to keep the car. P235 sidewall height is 6.94 and P225 sidewall height is 6.64).

This is a beautiful car that looks amazing and runs and drives very well! Every time I drive her I always gethonks, thumbs up and compliments fromother drivers and passerbys. I described the car to thebest of my ability, but please don't hesitate to ask any questions that you may have. I priced the vehicle at an exceptional price. The car is being sold 'as is,' with no warrantees expressed or implied.I also reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. I cannot ship, but I will work with the buyer to make the buyer's selected shipper arrangement run smoothly.
